Anyway, I have no idea why they named it YELLOW CANDY. Why not PURPLE CANDY (the album art is purple)?
I was thinking the same thing when I saw Al's video.ポスト #3242 · 2010-07-24 10:15:01amにポスト 15.8年前

What is it supposed to be?
Unsinkable candy. It's supposed to be Battleship Candy.
It's supposed to be Unsinkable Battleship Candy. (Thanks chat people!)
Actually it's just Unsinkable Ship Candy. The "battle" part is missing.
EDIT: lol hooky had it right, but I don't feel like removing Wonka.

I'm just kind of wondering if they're going to change it from Yellow Candy to the above when they officially release it in the US/EU, because the song isn't called "Yellow Candy".ポスト #3250 · 2010-07-24 04:21:51pmにポスト 15.8年前

I say they should just keep it "Fuchinkan Candy." They didn't change Kakumei to "Revolution" in the USA... they just Romanized it.

Yeah, why are they translating song titles now? They never called Gekkou Chou Midnight Butterfly, or even the god-awful long to pronounce and hard to say right Konoko no Nanatsu no Oiwaini to Seven Cheers for the Child. Rin to Shite Saku Hana no Gotoku was simply called Nadeshiko, like Nadeshiko Rock as everyone calls it... I'm curious though, what does the title translate to? And, perhaps I'll sound like an ignorant but, what's "Nadeshiko"?

Nadeshiko either means:
1. This flower: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/2/2a/Dianthus_superbus_5.jpg
2. A lovable, caressable girl.

It's all we have for now I guess! XD
Though Yellow Candy came pretty much out of nowhere... Are there any similarities between the word for yellow in japanese and "fuchinkan"?
BTW, thanks for the info DMAshura!

Not a single similarity.
I really have zero idea why they'd name it that.

Actually, Fuchinkan does actually translate to "Unsinkable Battleship" (Google Translate translates it as "Sinkless Ship", but Google is notorious for being wrong).
Looking up "Fuchinkan" in my Japanese to English dictionary (a printed copy, not online) yields the result: "n. Unsinkable Battleship."
Origin: Term used by the Japanese during WWII to describe the Yamato-class Battleships Yamato and Musashi. Ironically, both ships were sunk by the Americans during combat.
That's what hubris does for you. Never describe a ship as unsinkable.
EDIT: For another fun history lesson, the Riyu Kosaka song "Yamato Nadeshiko" is a reference to "The Ideal Japanese Woman", as evidenced by this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yamato_Nadeshiko
