DLC will probably be similarly priced to the xbox, I'm guessing it's gonna be pretty pricey.

In that case I probably won't download much. Or if they don't have it pack-styled and if we can download songs individually, I'd rather do that.

I haven't downloaded any music over XBL before so I don't really know how it works.

Buy marketplace points, then buy the songs individually or a megapack of all of them. I assume since there's going to theoretically be a lot of them, it'll be DDR S style and there'll be a lot of packs. I swear if Konami tries to pull more of that bull by including the DLC on the disk and charging us for a text file that "unlocks it"....

i would just get ready for that to be the case, neodude. konami, capcom, namco, microsoft, sony, they all include this stuff on the disc. its just a fact of life, whether its avatar clothes that you didnt buy but you can still see on someone else's avatar, alternate costumes that you can see on your opponent in street fighter despite not buying, things you can unlock in soulcalibur but they are tricking you into buying, or songs in DDR, its all on the disc. hell, even some FPS's have the first couple map packs on the disc and future ones are full down loads.

the only games i can think of that dont do it are guitar hero and rock band, and even then some of the info IS on the disc (when you export RB1 for use with RB2, some of the difficulties were changed. same with LRB.

Heh, most DLC that comes to mind for me doesn't. Rock band and Guitar Hero being prime examples. Borderlands, Modern Warfare, World at War, etc, all have to be downloaded from the marketplace. It just feels extremely lazy if you ask me. I kind of doubt they'd package 150 songs on disc and then not allow them to be unlocked, it makes a bit of sense on the xbox when there's only about 10-20 dlc songs/mix... at least new ones. I'm talking strictly 360 here btw, where the dlc was if I'm correct, NOT backwards compatible?

I understand where neodude is coming from. It gives you the feeling that you're paying to use something you've already bought.

Although, in reverse, it makes creating DLC simfiles that much easier.

I don't really understand that, has the xbox data actually been RIPPED? I thought most of it was line outs. You'd still have to pay for it either way unless there was some way of extracting the steps.

Yes... long time ago, Xbox operating systems are awfully similar to Windows. The ULTRAMIX series used Targa images, Windows Media audio and Excel spreadsheet files for song data.

Edit:

Just noticed Naoki's newest post on Facebook, PS3DDR! PS3DDR! PS3DDR! and also WiiDDR!. This is all in relation to the pending announcement, even the upcoming Wii game is being mentioned now and yet not a breath about the Xbox 360. No love. Sad

I was strictly talking about 360 though. Also, read the first post on bemanistyle.com for more info on the 360 version

Is it just me or are they forgetting about another DDR game that challenged players to use hands and feet at the same time? Tongue

We'll have to watch the Gamescom thing in Germany, which is next week. It's very likely.

a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away...

soulcalibur IV players with modded xboxes
extracted the data from the disc and were
able to change the values of the hidden
characters. one of those characters was
the almighty darth vader. well before he
was ever announced as downloadable
content, the sith lord was being used by
xbox owners...

when you read that, pretend its flying away from you in space.
