The Boom cartoon series was good as it felt like good old AoStH (the weekday series)

I seriously feel like that this movie is going to flop.

Eh, I'm at the point where I just expect everything Sonic related to flop anyway

That's all Sonic is destined to do anymore. He became a relic of a long-gone era about 15 years ago.

I'd take it none of you have played Mania/Plus?

Mania was fun for the first few zones and then became a slog. Don't get me wrong, it's the best Sonic game of this decade and probably the last, but the level designers got way too carried away. When every stage is 7 or 8 minutes long AND you have the bonus stages, it gets fucking boring to trek through. Sonic Mania was a good game, but the fact Sonic has had only two good games(Generations and Mania) and BOTH of them are nostalgia fests... it speaks for itself, after 16/17 years.

I agree about Sonic Mania and Generations. There WERE some other great modern sonic games though (I consider Sonic Adventure and later as modern Sonic games). Sonic Heroes, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, Sonic Colors, and maayyybbeee Sonic Unleashed. That was about it though. Honestly, Sonic 2006 wasn't as terrible in my opinion. I feel like if SEGA remade this game and fixed its flaws, it would be one of the all-time greats. The soundtrack and Shadow's story were 2 of the best things about that game.

That's how I felt about Generations. I think it's good but it's not great, I think people say is great because of the nostalgia trip. I would give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. Mania is amazing but I can understand the later levels do get a bit big. Not saying the older games didn't have 7-8 minute levels but it was not every level after the 3rd or 4th stage. Also I hate the UFO special stage, it's so clunky.

I have. I like it a lot. But I'm also not going to pretend that anything Sonic related isn't pretty much destined to flop because for every time they get it mostly right, they fuck it up at least 3 or 4 times. For what it's worth, I didn't think Forces was nearly as bad as people made it out to be, but Mania is obviously the far superior game.

DDR peaked in 5th mix

Anyone who uses the classic noteskin on Ace is a hoe for 5th Mix.

Sonic Mania is basically the video game version of The Lion King. The first half is fucking fantastic, and by the second half they run out of ideas and gets to a bit of a slog, but by the end it turns itself around. Solid 8/10. The Plus pack is basically the same, but all of the ideas of that seem to have dried up by Chemical Plant.

I feel like the same people who mark out for Mania also think Knuckles Chaotix is good. (IT'S NOT, OKAY?)

To me Chaotix was good, but there wasn't much in level variants too repetitive. Oddly enough when playing Encore Mode in Mania Plus it feels like you are playing Chaotix given how the lives system and the 1-up monitors works in that mode.

Chaotix was basically in the title. Every stage felt like a slog. The central mechanic of the ring tether was just BAD, the fact that every level required mess vertical running made it worse, and the soundtrack is the only thing which saves the game from the 2/10 or 3/10 pile to me.

Chaotix was testing out a game mechanic that just didn't work for Sonic. I think it would have been better if they made a new IP and build someone not so much in speed but using the ring tether as its focus, it would have worked out much better. It's idea that could work but just can't with Sonic.
