Let us not forget that the media plays a role in this. Each and every time these school shootings gets broadcasted on tv there is a chance that it is going to encourage someone who happens to be in the same boat that these crazed shooters are as an open invite to go ahead and do this kind of stuff with consequences be damned.
Anyway on a positive note anyone still need a Dialga or Palkia for S/M USUM I still have one code left and it expires in 2 days.

You're sorta right, it's not the fact that they report on the shootings though. That's their job as the news. It's in how they do it.
This happened in 2009. We haven't learned.
Of course, there needs to be a stern, stern look at gun regulations. Amazingly every time people suggest to look at it, you have people either going full 1776 and throwing a tantrum that their guns will be taken away from them, and on the other side, you have the smug twats that point at shootings where the gun was gotten from their family member or stolen from the police and go "ha, see, regulation doesn't work!" Both these types of people are cunts and are making this sorry situation worse and worse.

Yeah I can't really fault the media for them for trying to do their jobs. I mainly go after them when its a slow news day and they start taking jabs at videogames.
I just feel that it is getting to the point where the 2nd amendment is going to go bye-bye.

The big bad boogie man is not going to take your guns away. But the point that the powers that be are being payed off to shut their mouth about doing anything about gun control is sickening. It's blood money.

Journalist here. News outlets are given a very limited amount of words/airtime in which to get stories because readers' attention spans are pretty low. They choose the bits of information that will attract a large enough audience and get in the maximum amount of advertising revenue, especially since journalism is in its death throes, online news is the primary way in which people consume news, and a lot of people use AdBlock and very few websites use hard paywalls. That was sort of a tangent. It's both our fault and news outlets' faults. News outlets focus on the shooter a disproportionately large amount relative to any victims because it's 1. easier and takes fewer words to focus on one person than many, and 2. viewers are morbidly curious about the shooter and his motives anyway. People need a motive so they can feel like they're able to solve the problem with one step. "Oh, he was bullied, I guess that's the sole solution to these shootings!" "Oh, he played video games, guess it's time to ban those!" "He had access to his father's guns? Well, we all know what could have prevented this shooting..."
News media can and should take the brunt of the blame for fame-starving shooters since they give them so much exposure. They don't have to report on or talk about the shooter, and some of them make it a point to not do so.
Blaming singular entities for the shootings and giving so much airtime to the shooter are two things news media outlets can very easily correct but choose not to because they pander to their viewers' simple minds that can only think in a linear sequence. They want viewers and don't care about setting a precedent of worldwide media attention for other potential shooters.

I'm not allowed to have guns due to the fact that I live on a military base. I was just asking the question of whether or not we actually see that happeningPost #32290 · Posted at 2018-05-27 08:04:20pm 7.3 years ago

That was more in response to bmhedgehog's post. Obviously if you're not allowed to have them in the first place then what i said is irrelevant.
I don't own any guns because i don't want any because i don't fucking need any.

The second amendment isn't going anywhere. You have a republican president with a republican congress. Gun control and banning guns are two very different things. Stop fearmongering.

How about we control the unspoken phenomenon called drugging up every teen with Zoloft, Ritalin, and all sorts of shit? Oh that's right, big pharma is even more into that whole lobbying and blood money thing even more than the gun lobby. What's a big common trend among all these mass shooters? Could it be... I don't know... They were given SSRIs?

In some positive news a lot on conventions happened over the weekend but choosing only one it was ultimately PCF 2018 that I went to. They had a Tetris high score tournament and I won that with earnest! Also they had Star Wars Trilogy Arcade and I set myself a new personal best score of 2.65 million. All in all it was slightly lighter than last years con but I will hopefully do it again next year!

Last call for anyone needing Palkia or Dialga for either Sun & Moon or Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon. I still have an extra code. Don't let this code go to waste today is the last day to redeem.

No, the common trend is that they had guns. I've been on SSRI's and absolutely none of them made me want to go shoot up a school.
You're not wrong in saying that big pharma is a fucking shitshow, but that's an entirely separate issue from people who shouldn't have access to guns having access to guns.
