and here I thought that the dude in the Guinness Book of World Records had a strange diet for eating airplanes, I think U1 takes the cake (literally).

I wanna know what there plans are for dlc. That article didn't say anything along the lines of downloadable content.

A release date would be nice to hahaha

But 50 songs on disc.... Really, on a blu-ray!

There is also no mention of the 8-arrow singles mode (Octo-whatever). I guess we will have to see on the 12th.

I have a feeling that our hopes are too high. Last time 25 KO's and 25 Licenses literally meant only 50 songs. What a shame. Why can't they follow the suite that Rock Band and Guitar Hero do? ~100 on disc songs with a crap ton of DLC?

I think that new guitar hero has 93 songs.... I would settle for 75 lol I think we all would.

X2 had around 60 though so you never know I don't think 50 is the limit on this one

That'd be Monsiur Mangetout, eater of anything metally. He doesn't eat bananas or hard-boiled eggs though, they make him sick.

DDR EXTREME JP CS has 111 songs...on a 4.7GB (single layer) DVD. Even if you had unique BG videos for every song, you can probably cram at least 80 songs on a 8.5GB (dual-layer) DVD.

And even then, I don't even think the game was 2gigs in size.
Konami simply doesn't want to include a load of songs on the disc for some reason, or max out the disc's capacity (unlike what they do with IIDX)

IIDX's discs max out because they have a video for every song, including full length generic ones.

Plus, they'd be shooting themselves in the foot if they include too much in a DDR as they'll profit less on the DLC. It's all about the money for them.

We already know from the trailer last year that the soundtrack will be HOTTEST PARTY 3, unless some major change over occurred expect that plus a handful X2 arcade songs.


...and Octo!

Well, if this game is an X2 AC port, then there could be free DLC. For example, 888 would be available on the home version one week after it's first playable on X2 AC. It would only be available for download from 8-9, like how it's only available on the AC version from 8-9.

Doesn't it say 25 all-new songs though?

Could just mean all-new to the NA home console region...of course I certainly hope it isn't. 50 is a rather lacklustre number of songs for a PS3 release, especially compared to the previous 360 releases that have averaged 70 non-DLC songs.

They would assume all North American players would be oblivious to DDR X2 JP AC, so it's very likely the 25 songs will be from DDR X2 JP AC.

Heh, looks like I'm almost surely going now, convinced my parents to take me. Any requests for videos beyond the generic songlist/whatever songs I can capture out of the game? Also, I should be able to bring a pretty nice camera that shoots 1080P (5D mark II)
