10. In case on a tie, the tie will depend on how many votes the user made. (Example: if Member A voted and Member B did not, Member A will win the tie breaker) This will encourage people to vote.
11. If a tie is still present after rule #10, the tie is broken depending on who the highest seed's vote.
There is no seeding yet. The qualifier is all about getting the seed numbers.11. If a tie is still present after rule #10, the tie is broken depending on who the highest seed's vote.

(says rule #12, but I can only assume it means rule #10)11. If a tie is still present after rule #12, the tie is broken depending on who the highest seed's vote.
Though tbh, I don't think I'd mind having a coin toss over a single person's opinion

"That too, although I was more confused about why the #11 tiebreaker rule can't be applied during the qualifiers as well."
...Is what I was planning to say, but now I realize how that would be an issue with a file that has very few points. I was thinking something like: "in case of a tie, whichever file got more points from xRGTMx would pass" which would be silly since the files only got one vote anyway
My bad for getting things all confused here

#1 seed: Takes on the winner of #32 VS #33
#2 seed takes on winner of #29 VS #36
(and so on and so forth). It will make more sense once the bracket is made.

Abit curious about the seed method works.
How did you split Bye vs. Who in the bracket? #1 vs. (#32 vs. #33); #2 vs. (#29 vs. #36); Who's going to face #3 #4 #5? I can't see the pattern on the pairing so yeah it's pretty confusing.
And are you going to make the Top 5 facing candidates from the lowest bracket? Isn't that pretty unfair since they just going to wreck those people from the lowest bracket?
...just words coming out from me. Apologize if it's actually a common sense.

I think #2 is actually supposed to verse the winner of (#31 vs. #34), just that there was a mix-up with the numbers. Or at least that makes more sense to me.

The idea is that the Top 5 should be rewarded for doing as well as they did. The higher you place in the qualifier, the better advantage you have going in to Round 1.

Hold on a second.
If Blacksphere is gone, what do Quickman's leftover 3 points and vincentw's leftover 2 points go to?

I'm pretty sure you have to give 15 points, no more, no less, so yes they should be allowed to be moved.

Blacksphere only ended up getting 5 points anyway, there's really not much of a chance that redistributing those points is going to make or break anyone.

Comments (PM me if you want extra critique or have any questions):
30s Swing Tek - Expert: A bit repetitive for my tastes, the song choice didn't help either, and I'm also not a huge fan of footswitches (though that may be due to my general lack of gameplaying ability). Challenge: Probably an improvement, a bit difficult for a 9 though.
Age Age Money - Expert: I generally dislike this song anyway, but I tried to avoid letting that impact my rating. In terms of steps, I thought most of it was okay but I noticed a lot of similar patterns (e.x. the sixteenth streams usually involved the same two arrows, and the crossover patterns didn't vary much). Challenge: Definitely better, but there were some ambiguous doublesteps in there where if you stepped on the up/down arrow with the other foot, you would be forced to doublestep.
Ai de Kuru Narararararara - Expert: Not bad, not a fan of the song though. Challenge: a bit hard for my tastes. I think a lot of people will hate when the arrows go to the vocals but fuck 'em. Also fuck anime.
Better When I'm Dancing - Mildly entertaining, though I could do without Meghan's face staring me down. Also those stops were really unnecessary and gave off a vibe that they were only added to make the chart more gimmicky.
Blacksphere - Pretty fun, too bad I can't vote for it though. Also I think the sync was off.
Candyland - Not bad, the freeze in the middle was kinda annoying though.
Debut - Expert: Good, footswitches were clearly marked. Challenge: more of the same but without footswitches, pretty fun.
Monkey Business Electro Stomp: Pretty interesting, I never knew what to expect.
Every Single Day: Golly gee, sure love facing the same direction the whole time. Cool song, though.
Feels Like Summer: Pretty fun but I'd like to see more patterns (repetitive).
Ground Shake: Pretty fun, I just suck so I couldn't do a good job.
Human Nature: Lots of doublesteps and also some slight pattern errors, nice effort though.
Irodori: Kinda boring tbh. Also the video gave me a seizure.
It's Only Hard The First Time: love the song & the chart. Cute. Good work!
Jousou dystopia: Some of the patterns got pretty repetitive, but those patterns were usually kinda fun so it didn't bother me too much.
Kakushinteki.......! ! !: I enjoyed it, and the bg vid was kinda cute.
Loveless: Cute song, chart has a lot of doublesteps and (presumably) incorrect quanitization, especially in the 16th runs.
Magikarp Festival: Most of the patterns were pretty good, but they also got repetitive.
Man of Mystery: I liked the foot patterns but I felt like you could cool it on some of the freeze arrows. Also no offense but idgaf about the original artist. After all, Come Clean's artist isn't "NM featuring Susan Z (Originally by Hilary Duff)". You know that song quite well, in fact.
Miami: I definitely felt welcome to Miami. Thanks, Will. Kinda reminded me of the good parts of the ULTRAMIXes.
Milk: A couple doublesteps but pretty fun in general.
Prim (fuck off): Pointlessly complicated and difficult, and several doublesteps. Also a lot of the quanitization doesn't make sense, and hey, to top it all off, it's Prim.
Narcissus At Oasis: Pretty fun, I like the song too.
Queen of Pop Never Too Late: I liked it, but I like karaoke charts a lot so that's probably why.
(here is where I played Peanut Butter Jelly to cleanse my pallate)
Pure: Not really my thing, also a few doublesteps.
Shironeko-San: Kinda cute but also really repetitive.
Shuuen no Claudia - Expert: Kinda boring and a few doublsteps here and there. Challenge: Definitely better.
Sing: Mostly fun, could've cooled it on the freeze arrows in some parts though.
Skytoucher - Expert: Pretty fun, probably warranted a lot of freeze arrows so I'm not really butthurt about them, but I found myself doublestepping a bit. Challenge: this IMO is where freeze arrows went a bit overkill, but still kinda fun.
Sludge: Found it quite boring tbh, and I'm also not a huge fan of when songs start on the first beat.
Sonata - Expert: quite enjoyed it but pretty repetitive. Challenge: see expert.
Squid Melody: not a fan of the gimmicks but pretty fun otherwise.
Taiyou SUNSUN: quite interesting at times, boring at others.
The Detonator: pretty fun, song was interesting too, but the patterns seemed overly simplistic at times. I wonder if BPM gimmicks would help spice things up.
Trouble Awful Devil Evil: Gimmicks would've probably pissed me off if they weren't so predictable.
Try - Expert: Really like the song, not too fond of the strange rhythms though. Challenge: Definitely a lot more fun, liked the rhythm choices.
When Love Takes Over: There were parts where it felt like the arrows couldn't decide whether to follow the vocals or the bg. Also while I do like Karaoke charts, I don't like when they almost religiously follow the vocals when they are stepped to them.

Hm, consensus has been established that the problem with When Love Takes Over is that I constantly switch between the vocals and instrumental.
...well... The truth on what I did here was to step to every noticeable keynote (except maybe the first note) so that it wouldn't have like, 180 arrows (too few) and... well, it ended up in nagging inconsistency. :/
I'll probably fix it sometime in the future for those that think the song deserves better, so I guess hang tight for that. If I ever get around to it.
Thank you guys for at least telling me what's wrong instead of leaving me in the dark (before chewi's votes, some of the files had almost no comments to being with!! the exception being mine in that google document covering everything except my file) though. I know what else to avoid in the future.

Wow, tied for 4th right now! Thanks everyone!!!
I did double check both the heavy and challenge on Skytoucher for doublesteps since a couple of people have brought them up (Loodee, Astroman) - I don't see any, but several patterns throughout both require several measures of setup with crossovers so if you're double-stepping it means you screwed up somewhere along the way xD I definitely understand it with the challenge, I had to make it complicated-ish regardless of how easy it is in comparison to my usual. Anyways, send me a message if you would like some help with any specific patterns ^.^
Now for the fun part - I have my Week 1/2 file ready, but I feel a need to add the video. I just feel it would really add to the file. Anyone know of any good free software for making a cut happen and properly coding it in? I see a bunch of you include videos regularly and I just never taught myself that aspect of simming
I doubt I'll be including them a lot, so I would appreciate a few minutes of volunteered time if anything.
TRY -
is just perfect. I have only one complaint, and that's the rating. Up this to a 9, the speedup gets really rough and some of the slower patterns are really confusing if you're not used to reading at that speed.
has the same rating issue for the same reason as challenge (should be an 8), but is a freaking amazing. Great job with the skittles marking the unique rhythms in the song! Also, this song is totally steppable, don't listen to the naysayers. You took something unique and interesting and brought out the beauty YOU saw, and I see what you see in the song as a result. THAT is what this hobby is about!
Blacksphere - It is a PITY this was Disqualified. Great diversity in patterns and rhythms, tons of fun crossovers and Afronova-Steps, all with a great boost in difficulty when put together! It may have started off slow, but this really is a fabulous chart.
30's Swing Tek -
- Too many crossovers IMO for a 9, but a fabulous potpourri chart nonetheless!
- Footswitches were very well used. Good job making the slowdown super simple.
P.S. Where do you come up with songs like this? I'd have a hayday with this
Age Age Money -
This is beautiful. I went into it a little skeptical because of the song but you did a FABULOUS job of making it fun throughout. The stops were a little hard to read the first time, but the crossovers/half-turns make up for it so much.
- Just as beautiful as Challenge. Only change I'd personally make is adding some jumps to the screams during the first chorus and short freezes for them in the second chorus.
I was asked to step this by a friend a while back IIRC. I turned it down. Thanks for proving me wrong.
Narcissus at Oasis - Why is this not getting more points from people? Given the song you did a BRILLIANT job giving it a fun, ever changing chart, and we really need more representation from older IIDX (Hit the turntable fast enough in the beginning and middle and you can almost blow the speakers xD). Beautiful speedup, incredible patterning. Seriously one of my favorite bemani files I have ever seen in these comps. Even the hand at the end feels RIGHT.
Squid Melody - Those negative BPMs are epic! Good job making it progressively difficult - I love having a chance to get the beat down before things start being thrown at me - and keeping it from being repetitive.
Shuuen no Vanessa -
is a rough 11, but I see nothing wrong. The beginning of the slowdown doesn't go with the music perfectly, but that's me being OCD - the rest of the chart makes up for it. Especially the 24th footswitches at the beginning that can be done as a crossover if you're fast enough.
is a great step down from challenge, and is a very simple 9. Good job not going crazy with this, you could have easily added a ton of extra 16ths.[/b]
Slluuddggee - [i]This chart is fun as hell. The jump streams, the speed-ups, the 16th drills ending with a stop. Friggin' fun - I am definitely keeping this one.
Feels Like Summer - Beautiful BPM changes. A little repetitive at times, but you did awesome at switching up the patterns and adding replayability.
Taiyou SUNSUN Bonjour Adventure - Those BPM changes...Especially the ones at the very end at the middle one with a punch sound effect in the middle...were amazing. Great patterning, tons of replay value, and a very unique song. Great job!
Electro Stomp - All I can say is L-O-L
MilK - The patterns in M65-69 MEOW require you to start MEOW backwards after the Jump MEOW Freeze in order to not MEOW have a super-awkward double-step MEOW right before the 16ths MEOW. That's the only actual MEOW issue I noticed. The MEOW 16th runs feels a MEOW little long for a MEOW 9, but they're the MEOW only actually hard part MEOW so whatever, you know?
Jousou Dystopia - Those crossovers were epic, especially the ones during the chorus utilizing freezes and the ones with jumps to straighten you back out. I had some serious fun here.
However, I am saddened that your doubles charts use almost all the same rhythms and patterns as singles. Try branching out a little and make them different! Every song has tons of potential for a bunch of different kinds of charts!
Shironeko-san - I have no complaints with this file. Good job
MEOW-MEOWMEOW-MEOWMEOW-MEOWMEOW-MEOW-MEOWMEOW
Irodori - I went into this expecting a lot less. Friggin' amazing chart for a really cool song. Those gallops were all used SO well. I'll have to look this band up, this was fun to listen to.
Debut -
Those BPM changes are pretty epic. A little rough for a 9, but it could definitely have been made harder.
Those footswitches are *pardon my french* FUCKING SEXY. This is what I was expecting from challenge. Both are good though.
Sing - Is the double-step/spin in M47 intentional? The rest of the chart is fabulous, though it feels more like a challenge chart because of the congestion and the song choice.
Miami - Let me just say this first - I love the song choice. I reference it from time to time and no one ever gets it so HELLS TO THE YEAH CHEWI! Very simplistic file, I would have loved to see a few crossovers thrown in. The gallops really add to the file - kudos for popping those in there.
Kakushinteki Metamaruphose - I expected to hate this, as I usually don't enjoy anime-style music. So many different genres present, you did a wonderful job making each individual section unique and fun.
Trouble Awful Devil Evil - BPM changes everywhere! Same with Stops! And *gasp* - THEY ALL MAKE SENSE. This may be an 8 due to the difficulty added in needing to *somewhat* memorize where the rhythms are, but this is significantly better than I expected based off the music sample.
Peanut Butter Jelly - This started off so slow...but then it got super good when the airhorns happened. The entire second half I was jamming out hard, great job mixing it up and turning an opinion 180 degrees in a minute and fifty-two seconds.
Better When I'm Dancing - I love how it progressively gets harder, and my worries about it having nearly no crossovers were quashed once the ending came up. Cute little stop. Reminded me of a good home-version chart.
Magikarp Festival - The speedup at the end was a little odd - it makes sense when you consider how heavy the song got when you used it, but it's a little detracting from the overall quality of the file
Maybe use a slightly slower speedup, like 1.5x instead of 2x? Great chart, solid rhythms. Much better than I expected ^.^[/b]
Loveless - [i]Fix a couple of those double steps and this is a solid chart. Great rhythms pulled me in and the added complexity as the song went on kept me playing!
Ai de Kiru nara Itakunai! -
- Cute little minefield at the start of the chorus ^.^ Nice job transcribing the speedy parts at the start and the end.
Pure - The only couple of issues I had with this file were the 16th gallops that didn't really seem to go with anything and the boring choruses. The rest of the song is well stepped and has plenty of different patterns, but one of the most exciting parts of the song feels understepped in comparison. Good job making this song fun
CANDYYYLAND -
was awesome, though I was a little concerned at the massive difficulty spikes in M25-32 and M59-67 as they feel out of place compared the relatively "calm" nature of the rest of the song. They make sense, it's just a bit much...
The Detonator - This song has never really been "steppable" in my eyes. I tried once - the result is available in the original Encore pack and ended up having to be mostly done by someone else lol. That being said, this wasn't awful, utilized a lot of fun patterns, but just felt...wrong?
Man of Mystery - This file really drifts like mad...Great job transcribing the guitar solos, and I love the shock-arrow mechanic (maybe not the one on M44 though). Definitely a little heavy on the freeze arrows throughout as well.
Sonata -
isn't bad, though it's really repetitive. M64/65 set you up for a pretty awkward double step. Maybe switch up the patterns a little more and add some crossovers - this chart had you facing forward the whole time
Also, the 16ths floating above the little triplets in M50-58 don't really seem to go with anything, though they help you keep the rhythm. Forced ghost steps? Unique ^.^
Same issues with repetitive patterns and lack of crossovers that challenge has. Nothing actually "wrong" with it.
Never Too Late - I disagree with those silly 24th gallops, and the file is a little too Karaoke for my taste, but it's not bad.
Ground Shake - Not a bad chart, but the really short freeze arrows felt off - mainly they went with some of the noises sometimes and not others and I couldn't figure out an actual pattern to it
Fun ending - the little 16th runs added to the chart a lot.
When Love Takes Over - Not a bad chart, but I don't think the really short freezes really fit
Some of the heavy felt empty and too karaoke, but the beat finally dropped and you actually got a chance to step more than lyrics.
It's Only Hard the First Time - Really cute song, but I just didn't enjoy the chart. You have the player facing left a LOT, and it feels empty in some places. It's also totally begging for a challenge, especially at the DnB part. Good try ^.^
Human Nature - Double steps EVERYWHERE, but the notes almost all went with the music! Someone's getting better ;)
Every Single Day - What an abrupt end to the song...
Nagisa no Koakuma Lovely~Radio - So many double steps and runs that go with next to nothing. Nice try with the little "meow" gallops. Also, why is there a random note missing in the middle of the 16th run in M48?

Blacksphere - It is a PITY this was Disqualified. Great diversity in patterns and rhythms, tons of fun crossovers and Afronova-Steps, all with a great boost in difficulty when put together! It may have started off slow, but this really is a fabulous chart.
30's Swing Tek -

If Blacksphere is gone, what do Quickman's leftover 3 points and vincentw's leftover 2 points go to?

There's 37 songs that qualified, so the top 5 seeds would get a bye for the first round.
I count 35 files on the totals + JunkoXXX and Braeden47...

I've decided to let Aegis back in the contest after quite the response I have received the last few days. At this point, I'm wanting to be over this and let the focus to be brought back to the contest itself, so let's just act like it never happened to begin with.

Are Spork!/Gameoson/Telperion/everyone else that wanted to give Aegis points but couldn't because he resigned allowed to change their votes just for this occasion, or...?
