beatmania IIDX 14 GOLD (PS2) (Japan)

Yeah, I kept rotating the turntable and then I got it.

Either keep rotating or hold the DPad Left (or is it right?) on a Dualshock.

I'm trying desperately to unlock mnomeniq, because it sounds awesome to me... I got with my brother and passed most of the hardest songs by letting him hit the black keys while I scratch and do the white keys. Sense 2007 took two tries, and we haven't beaten Candy Galy yet.

I also finally passed Metallic Mind [n] by myself, HOLY COW.

So how do I unlock SHOX and that Beginning of life remix, anyway? The first post says "Play the 4TH STAGE in the beatmania course in EXPERT MODE", but there is no "beatmania course" in expert mode. When I choose expert mode, I can then choose "POP", "RECOMMEND", "TRANCE", "TECHNO", "MIXTURE", "BEAT", "EARTH", "HOUSE", "GOLDEN", or "MY ORIGINAL (1-6)". I played TECHNO on 3x [n], and failed on the 5th stage (but I at least played 4 and 5), and the two songs I mentioned weren't unlocked. What is the "beatmania course"?

And I'm very confused about unlocking the least 100sec, because I'm not familiar with the extra stage system. I know that with DDR SN1, it doesn't matter at all what do you in the first stage or second stage, but you must AA the 3rd stage on expert mode to play ES. Then pass ES to get EES. Could someone give me a solid list of objectives to unlock the least 100sec? Like "Play 20 November, then get AA on *insert specific song name*?

I don't give a rat's ass about the "DAN" stuff or standard mode, I just want to be able to play all the songs in FREE MODE.

in order to unlock the beatmania course, you need to tackle a few of the other courses. Every time you pass a course, you get a new one, so keep playing courses until you see that one.

And to get The Least 100 Sec. you need to go into standard mode, put on the HARD modifier, and pass three beatmania songs (The Beginning of Life, Turning the Motor Over, feeling of love, DENIM, 20, November, SHOX, and The Beginning of Life remix). And I think you need to fulfill the extra stage requirements as well, which would be simply passing an 8+, getting 100% on a 7, full combo on a 6, AAA on a 5, or a PFC on a 4. I went The Beginning of Life[a], Turning the Motor Over [a], and DENIM [h], though I failed DENIM several times before I finally got it. Hard-clearing the beatmania 8's seems pretty tough.

Any clear type works for getting mnemoniq, including assist clears, so you could use auto-scratch, 5-key, and easy and it would still count.

An AAA is not neccessary to get an extra stage on a five, only a full combo, just like on a six.

I could probably pass an 8 long before I ever FC a 6, thanks for the ideas there. I'll try that in a little bit, then work on expert mode some.

I did. Just AA all 3 songs without random/autoscratch/5 key, makes sure the total number of the difficulties add up to >=21, and fulfill the extra stage requirement.

Is unlocking just like Beatmania US, where you go to game mode, you don't have to pass the song, and then yo uget it. Or is it like DDR sort of where you do the song, and have to complete it, in a certain way to unlock it in the free mode. I'm here to learn!

They did that for 3rd-5th styles, but 6th and after, ALL songs are available in FREE mode with extra songs you have to unlock just by playing either courses or game mode a few times. I think I listed how to unlock GOLD stuff on the first page of this thread.

Do you have to play a song to unlock it for Free mode on the Arcade releases? On the older styles, I mean. I've only played on a DJ Troopers machine, and it had everything unlocked already.

On the AC, I don't think they ever done that.

That's cool. It also makes Beatmania US seem that much more inferior.

Hate to bring back this old topic, but I figured this question would be best-placed right here.

A recent renewed interest in IIDX has led me to become slightly better, and I am trying to unlock what little content I am able to access at my low playing level so far. (I can do most 5's, and a few 6's now as opposed to most 4's and a few 5's, and I conquered Metallic Mind's turntable of doom!)

My question is, how do I get to play Vanessa as an extra stage? I've read places that you need to play three songs in standard mode on any difficulty adding up to at least 10 and no assist mods to play Vanessa [N], and AA all of them. I've read elsewhere that the three songs need to be in ascending difficulty, and testing both scenarios (I only used speed mods, too) did not give me Vanessa as an extra stage. I AA'd Ghostbusters [N] (3), that "Japanese Alteration" song [N] (4) then Yoshida-san [N] (5) which should add up to 12 and be in ascending difficulty.

Is it even available for extra stage on the normal difficulty? What am I doing wrong? After I play the third song, it just goes to a final evaluation screen combining my notescores from all three songs, then credits, game over, menu screen, no extra stage.
