Here's some of my reviews. I tried to make sure to write something BOTH positive AND negative.


Act-
[+] - Followed the song rather well. It wasn't stamina draining 10.
[-] - Towards the beginning the chart kept changing what melody it was following, sometimes mid-measure.

Baby Boy -
[+] - Challenge chart was the saving grace of this file. Challenge chart had good rhythm choice.
[-] - Heavy seemed understepped and Challenge's flow seemed over complicated for such a bubbly song.

Blow -
[+] - Awesome step placement for spinning and fancy turns. Follows the right rhythms.
[-] - Could have picked up the steps towards the end, a bit short.

Blust of Wind
[+] - Very well rhythm choices. This is a very fun chart to play. Not too hard, but enough of a rhythm challenge to keep it from being boring.
[-] - It was a bit off sync for me, but I fixed it for my own test.

Club Can't Handle Me
[+] - Nice breaks in melody choices to follow. Good use of gallops and freezes.
[-] - Beginning started off way too strong with this type of song. Also way too streamy in quite a few spots.

Crystalline Green
[+] - Nice graphics.
[-] - Leave out the stepchart and it was a pretty good sim.

Dance in the Dark
[+] - Consistent.
[-] - Cept when the rhythm became inconsistent. The 16th portions seemed to have 1 too many 16ths. And the 32nds seemed wildly out of place.

Diamond Dust
[+] - Good flow and melody choices. Solid chart.
[-] - Cept the melody choice was rather sparse in the middle.

Dough-Nuts Active Map
[+] - Solid chart that changes things up with speed changes and flow.
[-] - Just kind of hard to feel any kind of groove with the song and chart. It's a personal thing

Dragonfly
[+] - An ok mixture of difficulties. Challenge had a nice range of turns at a higher speed.
[-] - Hard felt under stepped, Challenge felt over streamy and almost felt like I was playing the song a measure off.

Eddies are Back
[+] - Swingy and flowly chart. I felt myself bouncing to the song. Great chart for the song.
[-] - There seemed to be two flow issues where I wanted to spin but I was left facing away from the screen permanently.

Feel Good Time
[+] - It was submitted to SC2011.
[-] - I played it.

Flower of Bravery
[+] - Solid chart with good progressive difficulty.
[-] - Just a couple of flow issues.

Golden Skans
[+] - Solid chart with good uses of a breaks in a stream needing a double step.
[-] - Honestly I just didn't care much for the song, but it was a fitting chart.

Help Me Dr. Dick
[+] - lol Dick... But yeah this was a solid file, decent flow and melody choices.
[-] - Just didn't really stand out.

Holy Humiliation
[+] - Sounds like Xepher. Doesn't play like Xepher.
[-] - Sounds like Xepher. Doesn't play like Xepher.

I Can't Let You Go
[+] - Ian Van Dahl
[-] - I think this song is about using the bar cuz you can't let it go in order to play the Challenge chart.

Icicles
[+] - Bold move using Jimmy Weckl and his lack of consistent rhyhthms. Well stepped for what it's worth.
[-] - I hate Centaur and this felt like Centaur 2

Jewelry Angel
[+] - Sounds all 80-ish
[-] - I felt like I was playing the chart at 1 measure off (and I really almost resynced it as such). Melody choice was inconsistent.

Jumper
[+] - It was ok.
[-] - Felt understepped for a 7.

L'erisia
[+] - Suprisingly it wasn't over stepped! Glad you held back on these charts. Difficulty mostly due to speed.
[-] - The double speed sorta felt out of place but didn't. It's complicated.

neoMax
[+] - Cool I played this back when it first came out.
[-] - Wait this wasn't it at all.

No More
[+] - Beginning and end were solid.
[-] - Your rhythm got really weird in the middle with the 16ths...

Wow, what a nice batch of simfiles to start the tournament. I'm pleasantly surprised at this. I did take the time to go over each simfile, and as much as I would love to write reviews for all 40(?) simfiles, my current computer problems won't allow me to. So I'll just post the important stuff:

btw, incase you guys download the pack, note that some of the last minute entries were not included such as Iko Iko and Break the Rule, you may have to download them separately.

I don't bother with the pack as it's never properly updated. I made sure to download each and every single one with love by opening them in tabs. ♥

You should stick to the theme when you announce it, instead of changing it 12 hours later. I have to scrap my entry now, and probably won't have time to make another one.

He did say we'll have another week for that though, so all isn't lost.

For some reason Dance in the Dark has no files in it? Any reason why?
