Some more things I picked up from skimming the video, correct me if I'm wrong:
-Yes, extra stage life gauge will be selectable for normal stages, but I don't hear any mention of the normal life gauge being selectable for Extra Stage.
-Is unlock progression available on both normal and premium Extra Stages? Still, it seems the songs unlocked through Extra Attack will only be unlocked in Premium Mode for now. [So normal play for new songs will be Japan-only unless Paseli somehow makes it overseas or enough time has passed.]
-You now choose difficulty separately after choosing a song (the layout seriously reminds me of the GFDM XG series). I'm not sure why this is necessary, but whatever.
-You can also access rival scores and workout results in the results screen too.
-The update's coming in a few days, but no exact date.

I'm guessing at least on Wednesday. I'm also hoping this means a huge song update too. This game is kind of dry on having actual new music that wasn't part of the 2 BEMANI events or that was an EXTRA STAGE.

I feel you there. The charts are great and all, but it feels like there isn't nearly enough new songs that aren't crossovers or events.

Pressure instead of Battery (Challenge Gauge) in extra stage? and challenge gauge instead of life bar for regular play?

LOL, in SM, we can select the meter type from life bar to challenge gauge in song options (enabled), but in DDR? it's new!!!

i know this may sound strange, but from the bunch of songs DDR got from December to March and the strict update schedule the game has, the big update probably might not happen until the middle of May to early June.

Meanwhile, on 5/14, there's going to be a song update featuring 2 songs from U.M.U.

Songs that will be addd:
• LoveLove DokiDoki / Sota Fujimori
• MITOれて！いばらきっしゅだ～りん / 96

Time to spill some truth tea; Konami really needs to stop trying to find the next BeForU. They failed with Hinabita, and they're going to fail with this one, and they're going to keep failing because they can't move on.
EDIT: I honestly wasn't expecting people to take this post seriously, but to be honest, I brought it on myself for not making that apparent. I'm sorry.

Me thinks there's something else going on with TAG and PON in becoming the next TËRRA. They have worked on a few things together over the past half year. Also AnomyWolf, how do you know Hinabita failed?

Also, the artist names for those songs is 水戸ご当地アイドル（仮）, which is an idol group but the songs were written by Sota and 96 respectively.

The U.M.U. thing that they are collaborating with is a talent competition that finds local idol groups from across Japan. 水戸ご当地アイドル（仮）were one of the finalists of the 2013 competition.


This is not a Konami idol group, they are an idol group that is already established and has already put out singles and albums of their own. The opportunity to have the finalists of the UMU competition do original songs in DDR and jubeat was likely a deal that was made between Konami and UMU before the 2013 competition (Especially considering the fact that dj TAKA served as one of the judges for 2013 contest).

Except Hinabita was never meant to be the next BeForU. It was meant to be one of those anime style K-On-ish music projects.

And you might want to know that Hinabita is relatively successful.

Hinabita was just created to sell CDs with cute anime girls anyway; there's never been a Hinabita song on any BEMANI soundtracks. In fact, they could technically be considered a licensed group.


I don't know how you came to that conclusion. They've only made one song in that time frame, and it was a "special BEMANI event collaboration" type deal.

They also made that song LUVxREVO which was released last August for pop n music Sunny Park with a female singer and that's about it. While that's not enough evidence, it could still happen.
