So just to throw something, I imagined that Mei, Zeta, Fuchinkan Candy, I'm So Happy, and Theory of Eternity (fat chance, this one's easy) and Sense 2007 would be included in RDA in a home version.
While none of those songs weren't promoted, I smirked when 888 and DeltaMax promoted, and when the new boss songs are included in RDA.

Weren't recolors also the norm for DDR X2 PS2? I remember Queen-Zukin's whitewashed look.
Also, are there really back-up dancers? I saw the vid for unbelievable and I see two solid characters flying alongside jun, and then I see silhouettes on Heartbreak.
The recolors were in X2. I remember Queen-Zukin's alt form had Robo-Zukin's face too. Was that an error, or were they trying to make a separate character? Also, are there really back-up dancers? I saw the vid for unbelievable and I see two solid characters flying alongside jun, and then I see silhouettes on Heartbreak.
I don't think there were any backup dancers, just sillhouettes that disappear before the song ends.

A quick things of note:
-The game's engine feels just like DDR 2010. It lacks polish, it's simple, not a lot of movement in the interface.
-There are no more specific dance routines for songs. All songs get a randomish dance routine.
-The X2 characters don't feel like X2. They're obviously Hottest Party skeletons with X2 skins as their dances/movements feel very strange.
-For the licenses at least, long versions are just a continuation of the short versions. The charts are repeated heavily through out the song, which is kind of expected given the length of the song and how often certain rhythms/choruses repeat.
-Most of the charts are of good quality, only a small set are bad (Haunted Rhapsody is one). Unbelievable isn't that great either. There are charts with lots of spins, but they're mostly for slower songs and I was able to AAA sight read with spins, so they're not bad at all.
-There are new outfits for characters, mostly palette swaps.
-Gold Rush only has it's IIDX version
I will gladly answer any more questions from here on out
I agree with you on many of these. The game is similar to 2010 being that there's nothing really unique, just a feature of all the music. The characters do seem more like the HP characters too. -The game's engine feels just like DDR 2010. It lacks polish, it's simple, not a lot of movement in the interface.

It does feel like the charts are looped in the long versions of songs, plus there are many points where the charts only contain 1/4 steps on heavy.
And why did they use the IIDX version of Gold Rush, I was looking forward to blasting that song from the TV for all in the household to hear: DDR X2!!!!

I think they're trying to do those "What if" thing's
Like: "What if Queen-Zukin had the same face as most of the other Zukin characters we made! And then...It happened.
Getting back on track: I found it pretty weird that the RDA folder pretty much had all 7 RDA songs...But mixed in with the other boss songs, oh well...What floats your boat I guess.

The dancer animations unfortunately don't surprise me. They took a page out of arcade DDRX and X2 with that as those games largely did the exact same thing with the exception of Will, Loving You, and Into Your Heart along with a few others. No song from HP3 on X2AC used their routines either, it was all randomly chosen animations there too.
Basically, when they cut the budget on the production of the game the dancer routines were the first thing to get the axe. I figured this much too, since it would be 75 some odd songs they'd have to do that for and in many cases I can't for the life of me figure out what they'd do for the routine anyway.

This. I cringe whenever the dancers do part of the routine from Closer to my Heart. It shouldn't be so hard to motion capture dance steps. And lest we forget that along with scrambling up the HP routines and making them random character animations, Konami had the time to record choreography for Dance Celebration (System7 Mix), at least one of the Xmixes among other new songs on DDR X.

There are songs on the disc that nobody has mentioned unlocking yet.

How do we know that they actually cut the budget? I was under the impression from U1 that the game was so packed that they had to cut of non-essential features.

This is why we needed this on ps3 rather than wii. Now we can't enjoy watching background dancers dance while we are doing arrow smash.

They should have made an option to have the vid go fullscreen.

It's already been explained that there was not enough room on the disc for full-screen videos.

Revivals. Im going through them to figure out what all the songs are right now.
Disregard that, it's the Megamixes and 2 songs I forget were in the game.
Random stuff :
* The game is called DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 5, not DDR X2 CS.
* All the licenses appear twice, but they're both the long version. Presumably, there were originaly going to be seperate long and short versions.
* There are lots of placeholder songs, so they didn't actually get anywhere near filling the disc. There are over 200 "songs", but around half are placeholder.

I'm still surprised at what they did with the DanceDanceRevolution megamix
I mean, it starts off with In The Zone (and we all thought it would have started with Let's Get Away, because the HP1-3 megamixes started of with NAOKI songs)
And the album art is pretty much Lesson4 Choreograph Style...With a nameswap to "DanceDanceRevolution"
And honestly I think they got a bit lazy, because to me the songs don't really transition that fluidly.
And not to mention the video is pretty much the DDR 2010 ending credits video.
I'm not sure if they were too lazy with this one or due to low memory space they could do a better megamix...Unless their implying that that no one should buy DDR 2010 because of it....Sucking lol
Anyways thats my opinion on the newest megamix. If you have any other thoughts you would like to include, feel free to share them. Or if you have a different opinion like "I like the newest megamix" yes, share that too with a short description of why you like it instead of the "I like it because it's new" crap...

Agreed...After that the quality started getting worse after each release.
