Technically, there are 3 new MAXes in X2: If You Were Here, If You Were Here remix, and deltaMAX.

Although X2 is the best mix ever (IMO), there's something i don't like about X2. Whenever the players unlocked something thru eamuse or by enjoy level, the save/load players data will not display what has been unlocked anymore (unlike SN2 & X) So the players have to explore around to see what's new from time to time... I guess i shall say, X2 is full of surprises. Haha....

"TAKING IT TO THE PIE" |

I like the idea of reaching a certain level, and then having songs that require you to step up, either by learning the song, or learning new skills which are kind of unique to the song.
Pierce The Sky is great for this, because it makes you do streams in a way that hasn't been used in years, and is mostly unique to doubles songs.
Pluto Relinquish is great, because it requires you to learn a skill that's unique to very few songs (doing a simple stream really fucking fast), and requires you to learn the song in order to deal with the speed changes.
The one thing I love most about boss songs, is songs where you have to execute the first half perfectly, in order to save enough bar or battery life to claw your way through the hectic last 2 bars. Pluto Relinquish, Healing D Vision and Gunrock from Pump are all fun as hell, and I was happy to fail them over and over again, because the challenge was so addicting. I think passing Gunrock on a machine was probably the greatest "high" I've had from dancing games in the past year. It felt a lot more rewarding than Canon-D, simply because it was so much fun to work towards passing a song, instead of it just being a case of "You can either read this and move this fast, or you can't".

Yes yes yes yes yes. That's one thing I've always thought how a song should be. It should get harder as the song goes. If there's two measures that sound exactly the same, make the first one easier than the second. It works like any other video game. You don't bombard the player with the hardest parts right at the start of the level. That's what's made the best boss songs. You get a chance to slowly edge your way into the song, every time you play you get a few steps farther into it.
I also like it when a song has an easy part just before the finish to allow you to catch your breath/regain a bit of life.

The beginning of If You Were Here is coincidence. It's not a Max song (and technically If You Were Here was out way before Max 300 so Max 300 would be an "If You Were Here" song >_>

I just watched the trailer for "Dance Dance Revolution" for the PS360 again and saw this:

Look at the blue billboard up top.
This trailer is now a year old, could it be that they were hinting at something this whole time? There are DDR references throughout the scenery.
Someone, i don't know who, actually found this out for a while now (it may have been YOU, i don't remember) during a chat session.

But this is a DEFINITE good find, slipped our minds until all this X2 AC stuff started rolling up

Do you think that Neptune could be a new song also? Or is it only Valkyrie(Dimension)? Also, wasn't Musk Up a song in DDR Universe 3?

Musk Up is form DDR Universe 3 (from DLC)
Neptune is the latin name of Poseidon (maybe it was a hint about the remix ?) but i don't understand The Circle Of Drive
I can also see the words : Grunge, Afro, and Tune.

Seems to have a good deal more Freeze that I would expect from the location test one; hopefully it is inspired by the old Expert chart, but makes necessary changes.

That sign is actually spaced behind the sign on the right, it says "The Circle of Driver". I dunno either, Wasn't "Neptune" used in a planets song for SuperNOVA 2?

The whole sign says AFRO COLA. I'd buy some.

According to the current song list, .59 is a 6/5/7/17
singles and 10/15/17 on doubles. Is this some kind of error, because I can't see .59 getting a new 17 chart.
The ratings on DDR X are: Singles: 3/5/8/11, Doubles: 5/8/10.
In response to the difficulty discussion earlier, I think Konami should definitely make more
charts. Only 17's and up should be boss songs. 15's and 16's should be in the
charts of regular songs. Konami should not be afraid of using 16th runs, 24th notes, and other ITG chart elements in non boss songs.
.59 with a 17' chart would be weird... wait... i need to see the chart before then i'll see. But it's certainly an error like you said.singles and 10/15/17 on doubles. Is this some kind of error, because I can't see .59 getting a new 17 chart.

Also, for the part i colored in blue i'm really for that kind of stuff. That's the way i think since 2-3 years now.

15's and 16's should be in the

i'm not sure if you mean every non boss song should have a 15 or 16 oni chart or that it shouldnt be uncommon, because not all songs are capable of producing such charts. but i definitely support the direction you want the game to go.

Also, i like how itg put the expert (

When a player says "I play in expert (expert = :cha

I'm confused when ddr players says :
"I play expert yoh yoh i can play with you.
- Yeah sure... you can play 4' or 10' then ?"
Now with the boss song discution.
I can understand the feeling that you explained Tyma/Daiz (the boss song feeling with easy/harder part ect). But...
Quote: Tyma
Pluto Relinquish is great, because it requires you to learn a skill that's unique to very few songs (doing a simple stream really fucking fast), and requires you to learn the song in order to deal with the speed changes.
The end of PR is ridiculous hard. You can't learn that kind of skill because ddr doesn't give you that opportunity.
If you wants to train stream, the faster that you have (beside short streams) is Trim.
And it's only 170bpm. Even a 10bpm gap on stream could be huge, so 30 is like WTF ?!
If you want to train 200bpm stream, better train customs songs at home/on R21 with 170/180/190bpm streams.
Quote: Daiz
You don't bombard the player with the hardest parts right at the start of the level.
I don't mind if this goes with the music. But sure, it's hard to catch the good rythm if you start on a drill/stream. But hey, if it goes well with the music, i'll deal with it.Oh and btw, that double fire is good. Some parts seems a little bit to hard for me but the chart seems great.
Too bad that we can't hear the music.
