Edit: It also seems uncertain what the criteria is to play Extra Stages on Challenge at the moment.

Yeah, that chart of Horatio is much better. Also, nice to see it still has its background video on Challenge.

So I guess Shock Arrows will knock off lives unless it's your last one then.

If you want to play Extra Stage on Challenge , you need to versus play ,
you partner meets the requirement to unlock Extra Stage on normal difficulties ,
final stage you random on Challenge (you partner still on normal difficulties that can unlock Extra Stage)
if you didn't fail stage AND you partner success to unlock Extra Stage ,
then you will be able to play Extra Stage on Challenge ,

At Extra Stage , if you didn't fail stage AND you partner success to unlock Encore Extra Stage ,
then you will be able to play Encore Extra Stage on Challenge .

I think it's more like this, you have a shield then it gets destroyed by something. At this rate another hit will hurt you.
In DDR X, this might mean that you fail if you miss another arrow after you have no more lives.

BemaniWIKI says that though hitting a shock arrow will bring your life down, it is impossible to fail a song by hitting a shock arrow.

Now that's a weird concept.

Not really. It's like foul balls in baseball. They're strikes, but can't be used to strike a batter out.

I'm glad the chart for Horatio challenge got changed, it's actually reasonable now.

And I'm liking those new songs, hopefully they will appear in the game.

EDIT: Question about getting the challenge difficulties. Can you do that with the Saber Wing Remix and On the Bounce or Trigger?

If the list is true, then other unlocks are probably coming as Wii songs. Oh, and remember X-Specials as well.

You know, this release more than anything seems to be a test of the new cabinet. We can tell by DDR X/Hottest Party 2 US CS that 99% of the songs and stepcharts were finished by September.

It also seems that Konami was trying to expand the Wii games into the hardcore DDR market by adding so much Bemani content in the latest games. Judging by sales, it doesn't seem like it took too well, as it has pretty much mimicked Hottest Party 1. Let's face it, the Wii games have subpar audio quality and apparently can only hold about fifty songs. That's not going to draw many hardcore players, especially considering that the Wii stepcharts are pretty awful.

Well, let's hope Konami continues the Bemani rush in the next Arcade game since they'll actually be focused on the game itself rather than the actual cab. Meanwhile, X is a nice distraction.


I know you can with the Saber Wing remix, I dunno about the other two.

I just listened to Ubertreffen and Blue Rain and they're both so good! And you know what else this means? It means that these songs will most likely appear on the next American DDR game, where everything will be less sucky!

it still looks like both of them are the heavy chart with shock arrows added, so the fact that they are different doesnt matter because konami is still being a lazy POS when it comes to shock arrows. atleast the placement was better this time around with horatio, i will give them that.

Yeah. I mean, it's not really that bad, I love many of the FFP songs (awful charts though, if they don't change them, what's the point?), but my main gripe is... if true, then X held few surprises and even less new content. Pretty pathetic celebration of 10 years. But, I will wait, since that track listing is extremely iffy to me, mostly due to the inclusion of raw BEMANI crossovers when this has never, ever been done before on DDR OSTs.

(before anyone mentions, yes, I know songs like Votum stellarum remix were on the soundtrack but that's because it was the DDR RMX. We know ZERO and NADESHIKO ROCK at least are NOT special DDR edits).

i still hope a crossover with High School Love... Come to think... Arrabiatta only came in Supernova2, even if was in, like Pop'n 10... and High School Love have just a DDR song style =]

We need something from Yoshitaka too! SN had Nijiiro, SN2, had Bloody Tears; Why not X have High School Love? =X
btw, i'm really happy with Ubertreffen, just hoping the stepchart don't suck >.<
