Watching people have fun effortlessly doing 270's, spins, and freestyling on charts I have to concentrate really hard on to get a similar score as them is depressing. Most of the time, they get scores my inconsistent ass can't even touch. Like, I'm actually frustrated at how much I suck.
Similar situation on keyboard, people getting SDP's on 18's on freaking pad that I can barely FC on keyboard
ugh

Just keep practicing and you'll eventually get there. If you asked me last year if I thought I would ever pass a single 18, I'd probably say no and call you fucking crazy. But I've actually passed multiple 18's since then, hardest one being Trip Machine Evolution
.
My method for progressing probably isn't the healthiest and will not work for everyone, but I played lots of stuff at the highest level I know I could do to the point of borderline exhaustion, and then kept going. However, you will still need to stop at some point. If you can no longer stand up straight or walk in a straight line, that's when you should stop. You'll want to keep your breaks as short as possible, but you will still need them. Make you're staying hydrated, too. Start with something like Gatorade/Powerade or Vitamin Water to get electrolytes in your system (helps prevent dehydration) and then drink water the rest of the time. As soon as you're getting scores you're happy with, move onto something you couldn't do previously and it won't seem as hard, and chances are, you'll get it. My first 18 was Paranoia Revolution
, but Come To Life
and Astrogazer
are ones I'd recommend starting with.

Still have no idea how people are able to do spins- regardless of whether I've memorized the chart or not (most likely I haven't), I feel sick just thinking of spinning that fast.

All of the sudden, I just jumped in skill level for Groove Coaster, moving from level 9-10 to clearing my first level 15. Surprisingly enough, I'm only now coming across some difficulty scale dissonance- I cleared Valhalla by xi (15), but I can't clear Satisfaction (Massive New Crew Mix) (14) yet. I blame same-direction slide notes, those are difficult on a smartphone.
As a side note, I'm really enjoying Groove Coaster right now. It's really creative with its chart design.

I can't believe I haven't been here for almost a week, which is the longest I've ever gone without checking this site...Well, I'm glad to be back, yet super duper stressed about the first day of school, which is tomorrow. >.<
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good Labor Day!

On an unrelated yet slightly related note, today was my first day of school. It was actually a lot less painful than I thought it would be! My friends were in a lot of my classes with me, and the classes seemed a lot less intimidating than I feared they'd be. Unfortunately I have a lot of homework, but I know I can make it through.

I don't think you're a joke. Is there any way I can help? I'll listen to anything, and even if I can't help with everything (since I'm still struggling with my own issues myself, so I don't know all the answers yet), I'll still do my best.

I know it probably isn't that big a help in the grand scheme of things, but if it's any consolation, I don't think you're a joke. You're a really cool, funny, friendly member on this site. As somebody who can only keep in touch with people online, I'd say that this community is the place I go to most when looking for social interaction. And out of all the people on this site, you're definitely one of the coolest. Definitely Top 10 favorite users - maybe even Top 5.
It's not much, but I hope it cheers you up. I feel bad that you have to suffer through all this. I had that whole swarm of anxiety when the girl I cared for most fell for somebody else last weekend, so I can relate to how it feels to be an outcast. My scenario definitely wasn't as bad as yours seems, but nonetheless, I'll pray that everything works out in the end for you, man. Sorry in advance.

Hurricanes in the east and fires in the west...
If climate change doesn't exist, then how do you explain this? Checkmate, atheists.

Thank you for those kind words. As of now, I have been alerted to evacuate asap, for the storm surge is estimated about 8 feet above in my area. I'm freaking scared guys. I have to leave my home (the only place I can feel safe is now a deadly area). I'm moving north soon, I believe this will be my last post until this all passes. This really sucks, I'm leaving everything behind, all my work and designs will be at the mercy of this f'ing hurricane! It's now all about survival...bye.//Post #31220 · Posted at 2017-09-08 04:03:50am 7.8 years ago
