Now, is this backwards compatibility gonna work with ALL discs and games, or only ones that have been selected and modified for XBox One, much like how they did with the 360 games?

Because if the latter is true, then there's NO WAY Ultramix will be playable. Konami doesn't have the licenses to all the songs featured in those games anymore.

This is a good mystery but hey, we at least can cross our fingers for Wrath of Cortex, Nitro Kart and Twinsanity rereleases for the new thing and mayyyybe Titans and Mind over Mutant? And speaking of Crash Bandicoot, new trailer dropped today and confirmed COCO as a playable character for all three games in the collection! NOW THAT'S GIRL POWER!

I wouldn't hold my breath on the Ultramixes being added to Xbox One's backwards compatibility considering that none of them were playable on the 360. I think Ultramix 4 was on the 360's backwards compatibility for like 5 minutes before being removed because of bugs, and that's as far as it ever got.

@Sig: Actually wasn't expecting to see PVRIS on your list. They're super legit, probably one of the best bands I've seen live.

I don't think there's even USB or old controller support to add controllers even if there was back-compat? I have an Xbox One and don't even know. Shows how much I'm into vidyagamez nowadays.

I think it will be natural b. compatability with all previous games, like with the PS2. At least, that's what I hope.
Don't see why not. Aside from the "no controller plugs" thing, but why wouldn't a regular USB/360 mat work?
Whatever. The concept of playing UM3 on a flat screen entices me.

The original Xbox Controller is making a comeback for the Xbox One.

Why?

Where's the market for one of the objectively worst controllers of all time? Even nostalgia has left it by the wayside because everyone got the better Xbox controller eventually anyway.

I actually didn't mind the original Xbox controller personally. I didn't care for the original Xbox in the long run, but the original controller was actually one of the few things I liked about it. I do kind of have big hands, though. And I will definitely take a Controller S over an original if given the choice.

If I'm remembering correctly, the Xbox One version of Rock Band 4 came with an adapter/receiver thing that allowed you to use 360 era wireless instruments. It didn't work with the USB ones, but I'd imagine it wouldn't be that difficult for an accessory company to make their own variant of that which could take USB or even old Xbox controller inputs.

All 3 major console manufacturers are really stingy about 3rd party USB controllers/adapters and won't allow them to function if they're digitally signed or some shit like that. If you're good with soldering, you could MacGyver up your own sort of adapter. But considering that Microsoft seems to have actually done a really good job of giving their fans what they want, they might do something themselves if there's enough demand for it. As far as the software goes, that'd be the easiest part since at least with the 360 games, the Xbox One emulates the entire environment of the 360 rather than just having individual emulators for every single game like they did with Xbox games on the 360. I'd imagine they're going to do something similar with running Xbox games on it.

It's not a 2017 release, but I'm curious about your thoughts on Life's Not Out To Get You by Neck Deep. It's probably my favorite pop punk album in recent memory, as well as Around The World And Back by State Champs (you can do that one too if you want). I noticed you had New Found Glory's newest album on your list and Neck Deep and State Champs are both similar. State Champs actually recorded one of their albums with NFG's now-ousted guitar player.
ultra late but i'm listening to the release right now
i fuck with it

IIRC the Guitar Hero Controller for the 360 has a USB plug.

If that's Guitar Hero Live, it works in reverse. It's a wireless controller that needs a USB receiver. Now, for wireless controllers, it shouldn't be too hard to make a "legacy adapter" like with RB. With wired controllers we'd kinda want the opposite, like a wireless hub that you plug your controller into. Not sure if those exist.

The first 360 GH controller (Gibson X-plorer) was wired with USB.

Random question: Is there a way to obtain files from a ROM? I've tried before, but it just archived into a copy of itself.

Didn't really help. I'm not trying to play the ROM, I'm trying to take a look at the files within. Most of the information is either about playing ROMs on emulators, or ages-old forum posts with weird links...

Eh, I'll figure something out. In the meantime, I'll be busy extracting figuring out how to extract the files from Sinobuz now that I've found them.

So as the desert rat that I am, next week instead of summer we Phoenians call summer H-E DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS! Forecast called for 110+ degree days starting this weekend and continuing on til the end of the month. To add salt to the wound, Monday and Tuesday call for 120 and possibly 123 degrees respectfully!! Shocked And history could repeat itself because we haven't seen 120 in quite some time!
