Not really, considering they released a generous amount of license packs a few weeks ago.

I'm still calling it. DDR PS360 != DDR X2 CS. No, I think DDR X2 PS2 was the only DDR X2 we'll see stateside 8)

With that said about it being region free I think they will do an international release but have the DLC be region locked. That way even if they import this game to from different regions they wouldn't be able to download the tracks form other regions unless they have a foreign PSN account or XBLA/ Xbox 360 to use.
considering the amount of japanese people with super street fighter 2 turbo hd remix i dont think this will be an issue.

I don't know exactly what Konami was thinking making such a strange release schedule, but the PS3 version is obviously supposed to be a more faithful home version of X2, so why are people so doubtful that it will be called X2?

It would be kind of weird to have a new game out for the PS3 named DanceDanceRevolution X2, when there is no X1 for the PS3.

Eh, I don't really follow Metal Gear Solid. Never knew that happened.
I still think they're gonna name it DanceDanceRevolution Vol.1.

"Charlie isn't real" |
....lolwut at this situation.
I wouldn't be completely surprised if they called this version either "DanceDanceRevolution" or "DDR X2".
1) DanceDanceRevolution would fit the name for the PS3 title because it's a "new" type of game, with a completely brand new interface, style, modes, etc. Also it would fit since apparently Konami remade Karaoke Revolution into the PS3 and just called it by it's name, it didn't have any "Vol. 4" or any sub-name in it...
2) DDR X2 would also fit the name for the PS3 version if you look at the trailer from...last year...this was actually our first glimpse of what DDR X2 AC was going to look like, WITHOUT US NOTICING IT! It also seems like the "wait" was done on purpose to let the Japanese players get their hands on DDR X2 AC first, then the US players, then the EU players before we can get our hands on the CS version, which looking from player feedback, they would rather have a DDR version come out AFTER the arcade version for various reasons (a.k.a it would look more "finished" if it was released after the AC release).
^ my thoughts on the situation.

You can apply that to any game that crossed generations. Like Ridge Racer 7 coming out on PS3, even if RR6 came out on the 360 only and RR5 was on the PS2 years ago.I still think they're gonna name it DanceDanceRevolution Vol.1.

After "DDRMax Dance Dance Revolution" and "Beatmania", I don't think it can possibly get any more confusing for US consumers ^^;

Chalk it up to K O N A M I's inconsistency throughout the series. As of now, the fourth Wii title is just "DanceDanceRevolution", are they trying to reboot the series on the same console? I doubt it. When DDR moved from the PSone to the PStwo they didn't change the way they were naming things any more than they already had cause THAT series already had an identity crisis and hasn't kept the same scheme from longer than two games since the numbered mixes.
I mentioned it before to someone else, right now there are only two DDR games upcoming; They both are for Northern America, they both [didn't] have a positive release date and they are both called "DanceDanceRevolution". But are they named such for the same reason or not? Hottest Party 3 came out of a game simply called "DanceDanceRevolution" so I'm thinking the series will remain intact when that releases, after all it doesn't look like it's a console version of the X2 arcade, it looks like another Hottest Party. The pending Japanese (Whatever the HELL they call it this time!) title not withstanding. It's possible that the DDR for the PS3 and 360, which IS looking like a console release of the X2 arcade, could be called X2 on both consoles or UNIVERSE 4 on both consoles, or X2 and UNIVERSE 4 respectively... or just DDR... or DDRMAX3 DanceDanceRevolution 8thMIX. I don't care any more, I can't care any more my doctor says it's bad for my health.

Anyone else think Konami ditched at least the XBOX360 version in favor of Dance Masters? I mean, Dance Masters has a few DDR songs right now...

Obviously, they didn't ditch the PS3 or Wii versions. But things seem to be pointing that the 360 version was dropped.

Although where exactly have they stated that the 360 one's not coming? I have belief that if they'd release the PS3 one, they'd release it for 360 as well. Seems like a decent idea considering they've ran with it for this long, surely.
Someone keep this on copy-paste for when they DO cancel it so I can be all "remember when I thought this was going to happen LOL" like I did with SN2 EU.

They'd be stupid to miss out on the DLC profit on the 360.

Just thought i would post this finding here.
Gamestop has two seperate Ps3 listings
Dance Dance Revolution Bundle 11/2/2010 (Same date it has listed for the Wii one)
Dance Dance Revolution with Mat 10/1/2010
I do love Gamestop.com and there randomness... gotta love their guesses

If they drop it, I will sue, and lose terribly.
