But the groove radar lacks the name of 5 radars each (STREAM, VOLTAGE, CHAOS, AIR, FREEZE)

I see the radar now. It took me forever to see it at first.
It looks like it would be good if it was a mock up and not the final version.

Yeah, the groove radar is really hard to read. Maybe it's different in person, like it glows or something. I guess we'll find out whenever it comes out.

As far as anything goes, I wasn't exactly thrilled with the new theme, but at the same time what else could they possibly do with a very dated game?A color change and scheme would have probably been better, but then again at this point in the games lifetime, cosmetic changes are not a big deal for me, I just want content and something that can last a good while.

I wonder if this change will come along with the supposed "new set of boss songs" or whatever that flyer was saying waaaay back when.

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana" |
I was hoping the theme would be more along the lines of a color swap with some other minor graphic improvements, but eh. I'm more concerned with new songs at this point. I'm hoping there will be new originals (that is, not crossovers or event songs) that roll out with the update.
Post #3053 · Posted at 2014-02-19 05:23:49pm 11.3 years ago
Sooo... I looked it all up.
58 songs have been added since release. On average, that means a new song has been released every 6 days.
We don't know what the writer of the alleged schedule considers a 'boss song', but there were 5 Extra Stage songs added since release, and 3 events which all ended with the unlocking of a 17/18 footer. I'd consider all 8 of these to be 'Boss Songs' in the traditional sense, although you could argue that there were only 3.
A new Extra Stage was released every 6 weeks (either 5 or 8 weeks after the previous one). 3 Months after it's release, each Extra Stage received a Challenge chart. On the same day, the previously released Extra Stage 'ended', and became a normally selectable song. The last 2 Extra Stages (New Generation and Blew My Mind) were rushed forwards for some reason, and although they were released on the same schedule, they ended much sooner.
25 of the 38 default songs received Challenge charts during patches, which is a nice bonus nobody really expected.
-
The Alleged Schedule Predicted
10 new songs every 2 months.
4 Bemani events.
4 “Challenge” events (I don't know what these are described to be).
2 Boss Songs.

We Got
10.5 new songs every 2 months.
3 Bemani events.
5 Extra Stage events, which each lasted the exact duration of the “Challenge” events on the schedule.
3 Boss Songs (assuming the Extra Stage songs are not counted)

-
Terrifying Conclusion
The alleged schedule was spot-on. It describes :
Regular Bemani events, which all end in the release of a Boss Song. I would consider Elemental Creation, Triple Journey and IX to be the Boss Songs in question.
Challenge events which each last for exactly 4 months, and overlap with each other. This perfectly describes the Extra Stage system.
10 New songs every 2 months. On average, this was exactly what we received, although we didn't receive them in batches of 10. The driest period was the 2-months of October-November, when we only had 6 new songs. To make up for that, the next 2-month period included 16 songs.

Nice observations. I was hoping that we'd see one last round of content for the current game before the new interface was pushed out, but maybe not. It seems strange to not have a 19 in there at the end, but I guess they're too difficult for a lot of people anyways. I wonder if they'll announce a release date soon...

Say hello to the first DDR 2013 AC in North America (Game Underground).
It's updated to the current build in Japan as far as what I read.

Yay! Konami cares about us!
Post #3058 · Posted at 2014-02-23 08:51:04am 11.3 years ago
This is completely unrelated to Round 1. Round 1 is tied to Konami / eAMUSE, and what's being distributed to GU and other arcades in the near future is all through DJ Hackers / Programmed World. It's unlikely Round 1 will get DDR 2013 in the near future. But places with official hardware kits and not affiliated with Konami will likely get the data in the coming weeks. (This means Super Arcade as far as I'm aware.)
EDIT: Again, guys, this is not Konami. Konami is not distributing DDR 2013 in the US. It's finding other ways to make its way stateside.

Pretty much the same way EXTREME was brought over to the US.For those that do not know, EXTREME was never officially released in America (Dance Dance Revolution, DDR USA, DDR Disney Mix, DDR SuperNOVA & SuperNOVA2, DDR X and DDR X2 were the only mixes released by the NA division), all the EXTREME's that you see/saw were either brought directly from Japan or they were simply kits converted from older mixes.

Uhh, I'd say it's not really similar at all. Most of Extreme was brought over thanks to sketchy Chinese hackers. They sold many of the kits for much cheaper than Konami so people went with their option instead of buying through Konami. This is being distributed for free.
