I have a suspicion;

You wonder why DDR X had such a quick CS release after X AC was released? They did that so they could have edit mode integrate with AC. Now, anyone want to bet that they may be making a Japanese version of this so they can integrate it with X2 AC somehow?

Possible explanations:
-It was in the "batch" of games that shares most of X2's KO's to begin with
-The X2 UI looks a lot like what was revealed originally for this game at E3
-Its taking them a long time to do 8-panel charts.

I'm probably completely wrong here, but I remember when videos of the PS360 versions were first showing up, the song list interface looked pretty similar to how X2 AC looks...and it makes me wonder if they're delaying these versions so they can be CS versions of the AC version of X2. Like I said, I'm probably wrong and it's mainly just wishful thinking from me, but in all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if this was the case here. It's not like it's completely impossible.
This...i have been saying this since i FIRST saw the song selection screen of DDR X2 AC from the first location test. If they are delaying it TO MAKE IT LIKE THAT, then i am ALL for it Smile

Not sure, they have said NOTHING on a DDR X2 CS for Japan yet, and if they did we would ALL know it by now. Besides, no one has told me or anyone here that X2 AC will use Edit Data, so this is ALSO another mystery >_>

I swear I did see a USB authentication screen after the e-Amusement login just like on X in a video. But face it, how long was it after X AC JP was released that X CS JP was released or announced? I swear it was only just over a month after.

From Konami's twitter:

Save the Date, DDR fans: 8/12/10, 5-9pm PST. Whether you’re there in person or online, u won’t want to miss this… http://ow.ly/i/2Sfs

Judging by the image filename, Konami is holding a "DDR PS3 Launch Party" somewhere on that date.

I am intrigued on what Konami is planning on doing. I hope it doesn't involve releasing it soon. From what I have seen with X2, if Konami takes their time, we get something well made.

I think it'll just be "Dance Dance Revolution", because it's coming out for the 360 too, not just the PS3.... Well, not JUST because of that, but still.

Both HP3 and X2 CS were supposed to be called DanceDanceRevolution, too

It's likely that DDR Wii will be called HP4, DDR 360 called Universe 4, and DDR PS3 called X2.

Nooo....... Oops

X2 JP CS must be on PS2. (Remember IIDX 16th PS2 have around 180+ songs)

Last chance for PS2.

Better X3 for PS3 with X2 JP songs and new X3 songs.

No. Just no. If it's called X2, it wouldn't be the same.
I guess that Universe 4 wouldn't be a bad name for the 360, continuing the UNI series, but for PS3, I'd still rather it be just DanceDanceRevolution.

Why wouldn't it be the same? X2 looks a lot like the beta DDR PS3, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's why it was delayed.

If it's because we already have an X2 for the PS2, it will look completely different. And the dual release has already been done before for DS Fever & Fusion (with the PS2 version of Fusion looking like the arcade version).

It's been "last chance for PS2" since IIDX 10th Style ^^;

I honestly think this is going to re-use a lot of songs from last years' games, and possibly older japanese CS songs, which weren't on the PS2 console releases. Remember, this is the first "region-free" DDR game, so Konami are going to be careful that Japanese players don't have any reason to import this game, instead of purchasing DDR X2 CS, or this year's Wii game.

This is what I was thinking, and I posted something similar to this a while back. Sure, we have X2 on US PS2 right now, but that doesn't mean they absolutely won't do this for the PS2. As far as I'm concerned, Konami is capable of doing just about anything.

No. Just no. If it's called X2, it wouldn't be the same.

...But it IS the home version of X2, unless the game design and soundtrack has changed radically. I fully expect the titles to change right before launch but if they don't, not an issue.

Yay, Konamix 2!!! Dance Dance Revolution for Windows was the first region-free DDR game btw :3

With that said about it being region free I think they will do an international release but have the DLC be region locked. That way even if they import this game to from different regions they wouldn't be able to download the tracks form other regions unless they have a foreign PSN account or XBLA/ Xbox 360 to use.
