Uh, as far as the "seeing bands I don't even like" thing goes, there have been at least a few bands I've seen where I really did not care terribly much for their music but were actually quite a bit better live than on their albums. As an example, I saw the band Impending Doom opening for Asking Alexandria like 7 years ago and I was totally expecting them to suck enormous amounts of donkey dick live, but they actually put on a pretty good show. But all of these cases were bands opening for other bands that I like/liked at the time. Getting VIP front row tickets to a band you don't even like seems extremely excessive to me. Unless you're going with a friend who likes them or something, which I can understand. But still.
