Coincidental? Probably not, but who knows.

I don't know if I ever would've considered Bemanistyle a "rival". It's cool but hardly anyone uses it.

I'm visiting my cousins in Scottsdale, Arizona, so I got a chance to play the DDR A machine at the D&B in Glendale. (My cousins were sick/asleep/at school in the meantime, so I didn't get a chance to convert them. They've expressed interest though, so I might get another visit later)Literally everyone is better than I am. I think I can still hold my own decently enough, we all played mostly 11-14s, but I made a futile attempt at Shakunetsu Beach Side Bunny
, and collapsed on the pad about ¾ of the way through. Not my finest moment.
Meanwhile, I played Pump It Up for the first time. Either I get close to a full perfect combo, or I fail outright. The pads were more sensitive than the DDR machine, and I feel like the gameplay was more natural, but I still can't deal with a few of the more crossover-y patterns.
Unless my cousins want to make another trip sometime soon, this'll probably be my last chance to play a dancing rhythm game for probably about half a year. I returned my friend's dance pads, and we don't have a DDR machine anywhere less than 5 hours away, so I'm going to have to figure something out.

VA-11 HALL-A is currently my favourite game of the year and I strongly doubt it'll change much. It hardly even has gameplay, but fuck it, it's amazing.

Just looked it up now. Seems pretty neat. If it ever goes on sale, I'll try to pick it up.

Wow, I also decided to take a look at VA-11 HALL-A and, I gotta say, it looks amazing.
I could buy it and take it a shot...if I had money.
Also, can I mention that the devs are in Venezuela, the country that became a hellhole some years ago?
plus the country i live in, too
I'll just let that sink in.

Game development becoming a thing in lesser-developed countries will never not be a good thing, fly that goddamn flag high wherever you are.
(Also the game came out in 2016 but I don't care it's my favourite 2017 game. I don't play fair)

Went down to the new Round1 outside of Atlanta with some friends and had a blast. I blew through the $40 of credits.
Played a lot of pop'n although it was only a Fantasia cab. Was pretty happy clearing 20+level songs on Normal as well as few easy Hyper charts. I even played 0/1 Angel on Normal while singing and FC'd it.

As expected. I would've done it on video for fun but was too distracted by the games to ask one of my friends to record.

When were you able to get all your posts from the bit underneath My Last 10 Posts in the profile? That's actually brilliant.

I noticed that "All Posts" tab sometime late in 2016. Can't exactly remember the date. But yes, I think it's really cool you can see everything you posted years ago and have long forgotten.

Been using it since, like, September lmao
Also last night I was woken up by immense pain and ended up vomiting around five minutes afterward. Head still hurts, trying to balance Not Dying along with making music and playing charts. 'tis a fun week, looks like.

Gosh, I really have a pet peeve for when stepartists step a song that clearly has 24th note swing, but they step it as 16ths instead. It messes up the chart, since it causes me to get greats when I should at least be getting perfects. And the chart would be so much better if it actually used 24th notes instead because it can make the chart more fun to play. It probably wouldn't bother me so much if it didn't happen so often. Like 70% of the songs with 24th swing that I come across in simfile contests are stepped as 16ths. So please, double-check your song to see if it actually has 24th swing. Listening to the drums or the main melody is usually a good way to tell.

Let's not forget 3/64th swing (demonstrated in files like CLASH by Gameoson/Sweet Things by NuVirus/Rock the Club by Gameoson and I/Snake Eyes by Gameoson) which almost everyone will fudge as 24ths, and while I can see where they get this from, it will still bother a small amount of people.
Case in point: I found out the wacky 96ths and 24ths in my Valkyrie file are indeed supposed to be 64ths... I'll fix that when I reupload it to my category (I'm so overdue with that, heh).
