My thoughts on people's files, organized in reverse alphabetical order

Week 2 - [Mother Nature]

Venus:
was very well stepped. Rhythm choices were perfect. Patterns great, too.
I liked as well.

Toucan
Not the most interesting song, but I guess it's kind of difficult to find songs in the first place that fit [Mother Nature]
Personally, I feel the beginning of should have started a bit easier, with maybe just some 4th notes going to the bass/backbeat/whatever you call it.
was alright too. The song choice really doesn't help this file in my opinion.

Tori-no-kimochi
Not the best 24th swing song, in my opinion. The chart felt kind of weird. the timing of this song felt off a bit, so it messed up my MA a lot. Probably because most of the 24ths didn't really feel like 24ths, but more like 16ths. The chart is somewhat decent, I guess.

Timberwolves
has a couple doublesteps, one of which was in an 8th stream leading up to a 16th stream, which isn't good...
The chart was decent, except for the unreasonably hard long 16th streams. Nothing else in the chart comes close to that level of difficulty. Maybe alternating trills would've been a bit better.
Sync is spot on.
I like the chart, too.

Thunderbolt:
Good chart. was very good artistically as well. Pattering for both charts was great. The song is a bit repetitve, but it's pretty good, nonetheless.

The End of Yggdrasil
This was good, but the song just dragged on and on. Sadly, I'm not sure if this qualifies, since it exceeds the 2:30 limit.

Swamp Thing
Good chart, it flows well. Rhythm choices are pretty good.
not sure it needed all of those streams of 16ths.
One thing I think would have fit better, is to accent the 4th note bass instead of the 8th note "UUGHH"s at the beginning.

Strelitzia
Well, ITG much? It was decent on . some of those streams are pretty difficult. I can't even think of what will bring.
HOLY CRAP!!!! What was that?!?!?!?! I should've waited to say "ITG much" until now...

Snow Blind
...Hmmmm....not the most exciting song. The chart was meh...I felt like the rhythms didn't flow well as a whole chart.
flowed better as a whole chart. The only parts I thought were weird were the parts with the 32nd trills. Immediately after these trills, there's an awkward break until you go to the melody line (if you can call it that). Otherwise, it was actually better than I expected.

Skies are Open
From the song preview, I wasn't sure if I was going to like this song. The song is better than I thought it would be, but it's not great. The chart was good, except for those 32nds. They fit the song, yes, but it offset the difficulty of the chart a bit. Possibly worth a point.

Shungiku
good rhythm choices. Only thing I would have added were more Freeze Arrows in that loooong section where there are no steps. It felt empty.
As far as patterns go, I liked the patterns for the first half. I didn't like the doublesteps so much on the xx-x-xx 16th runs specifically, nor the weird spins during the 8th streams towards the end.
Nice Only thing I might change is the patterning during the long 16th streams.

Ah, another nekomata song.
This one is stepped pretty decently, though I think a few more gallops would have made it a bit more fun.

robin
This was probably by by own doing, but I kept having to doublestep. I guess I kept leading off on the wrong foot after jumps pretty often. I think you overused certain patterns. i.e. r-u-r-d-u-l-d-l-u-d-r and other patterns that are extremely similar to that.

Playing With Fire
was pretty good. I liked the rhythm choices; they fit perfectly with the song. I certainly wasn't expecting those 270 spins a la REVOLUTION
: well that was pretty hard. I really don't know how much fun that would be to play on pad...

Northern Lights
Lol, I loved the gimmicks. They fit the song so well! I don't really have anything bad to say about this.

Mogri Forest
Nice chart. nice chart, too. Only thing that detracts from the file is the song itself. The constant 16ths in the background of the song from the "flute" or whatever, isn't the most pleasing thing to the ears...

Lotus Flower
was pretty good. The chart could've started a few measures earlier, but that's just me, I guess. I can see why this file is winning right now.

I've noticed that you seem to like songs that have 24th trills in them. Though i feel that might be a coincidence.

I wanna See The Sun
The song is offsync slightly, as are all your files, for some reason. I don't know if anyone else had this problem. If anything, it's just an offset problem.
The chart was decent. Rhythms were well selected for the most part.
was good until after the slow-down, when you put a whole bunch of 16ths, where they weren't really needed. Sure, they went to something in the song, but they don't really fit the mood of the song.

Honey Party
I liked the rhythm choices; they were chosen in moderation, not in excess, for the most part. The song, not so much.

forest song
Actually pretty good! Waltzy songs are always ambiguous regarding BPM. Personally, I think I would have done this like how Chronos or Ayakushi Kakushi (from DDR 2014) was stepped, 8ths taking care of the "triplets". Aside from that, I liked the file!

evergreen
hmmm...not sure if I like it. Not sure this was the most steppable song. I didn't enjoy the rhythm choices here. I'm not exactly sure what it is about them, but they just seem off to me, maybe mood-wise.

Erosion Mark
I thought the chart was a bit unbalanced in terms of difficulty. The beginning seemed too easy, and the the streams +16ths happened at the end. Maybe, you could try evening out the difficulty in the future? It's just a suggestion.

Der Wald
This was definitely off-sync for me. I'll fix it on my own Stepmania and play it once again.
As for the chart...I honestly think that stepping to the bass during the slowdown (not the beginning) would have been much more epic and fun. Maybe it could've been done for half the slowdown or something.

Daisy
I actually liked this one a lot. It could use a few steps, here and there (maybe two or three during a couple freeze arrows). I liked the feel of the steps. They fit the mood of the song nicely.

Clover
Nice calm, serene song. I think the chart fit well. There's not much else I have to say.

Blust of Wind
Lol, is it a coincidence that the chart has a max combo of 365? The chart was good for the most part. The sets of 3 offbeat 16ths felt kind of awkward to play, without an 8th right before, leading up to them.
not sure about this either. Yes, it goes to the song and such, but I'm not digging the song so much.

After the Rain
I liked the level of moderate-ness in this song. The chart isn't overly hard and it goes with the song pretty well.

6 Rainbow
OMG was PERFECT. So fitting for this song! I'm seriously glad I saved this for the end (going reverse alphabetical order this time around) I have no criticisms.
