I think you guys got a bit misunderstood. I have nothing against the songs, and I've only played BeatStream a few times during its location test in Bucheon Attack and during my trip to Osaka last year, so I'm far from settling on a solid opinion. It's just that you can't find an AC anywhere but Japan, so those living outside that country (Korea in my case) may have a little trouble unlocking them. Just clarifying things here.
Although in my country, in cases like these, players would actually get Japanese residents (mostly Korean overseas college students) to unlock the songs for them, which they (the players outside of Japan) could've been able to do themselves otherwise, for a set price. This isn't the first time Korean players had no choice but to unlock songs in this manner. Notable examples are those SteelChronicle songs INSECTICIDE and HAVOX.

Actually BeatStream is also in Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan so you could get residents of those countries to do it for you as well.

There is a new update on SDVX, From May 19th 10 a.m. to June 1st 10 a.m. (based on Japan's time), you can get a song from Jubeat to SDVX by playing Jubeat 8 times. It is time limit event, In that 2 weeks, you can get "I'm so happy (by Ryu☆)" and "True Blue (by Dj Taka)"
To get that song, play Jubeat 8 times First, then when you enter to Station in SDVX, you can find Policy Brake (which is event name). You can choose the song you like to get. Then you can play it.

Guys, you're not gonna believe this. Cyber Thunder Cider is going to be removed from SDVX on June 1st.

I appreciate having variety of songs but one thing I find difficult in music games today is trying to sift through the plethora of songs and finding some to get attached to.

THIS!I'm glad one of the updates added a favorites list, because it's a pain trying to find songs I play the most. It's needs a better sorting system. I find it better than Pop'n, but not as good as the sorting in Gitadora, IIDX or even old DDR.
