Yeah, I'm fine with it if it means it will be a more solid package. As long as it launches with the 150 DLC song marketplace too. The customization and DLC is what I'm mainly interested in. I think the songlist will be similar to HP3/X2 with the addition of a few new KOs.

But with what Konami's done with delays in the past hasn't typically warranted the wait. (eg Universe 2; I remember that being pushed back, and it still had a crappy framerate and I believe some xbox live issues)

e.g. Konami's entire DDR EU output from 2008 onwards.

It will probably be the CS version of X2. So I'm guessing plus the crossovers as well and whatever else they have in store for the AC game.

Question about downloadable songs: When hearing people talk about the new DLC, even on this board, it seems like a lot of people are referring to mix-specific song packs (3rd mix, 4th mix, etc). Was it actually confirmed anywhere that the songs would be coming out in packs? I'd prefer to pick and choose individual songs, myself.

It was never mentioned that it would be out in "packs", more so the songs from those selected mixes...

...ALTHOUGH i would predict that sooner or later once they release it they will release them in packs for their respected mixes, so we will just have to wait and see >_>

"BEEJAY REVEL A"
I'm currently imagining them putting some themes that make it look like the older gamesCool That would be awesome. I would choose 5th Mix. Or maybe MAX 2. I hope they at least make their skins change the organization a little rather than same layout, just different imgages
This game I must say is sounding promising regardless. I'm glad I held back on X2 because this might be worth the buy.

I'm sorry man I totally forgot about that Cry the beautiful expert chart and amazing cut of that song must've taken them months to put together, they put more work into that than just about any game designer today puts into their games, hell, I think that ONE SONG took more effort than the development of an entire guitar hero game

I don't see why that would happen unless Konami has some sort of DLC agreement between Microsoft or Sony.

Hey, I know you guys are bagging the delays; and after X2, who can really blame you? But really... I think what they're doing by delaying and polishing this title first (assuming they are) is terrific. People are broke right now, and a lot of us are still not quite on the PS3/360 bandwagon yet, so a little catch-up is in order. Why publish a product when most people can't afford to jump on it? That just ensures inferior sales on a solid, quality product (DJ Hero, anybody?).

Besides, it's not like DDR is brand-spanking new. For crying out loud, right now you could play a different DDR title every day for a month, and not use the same disc twice! Heck, even if you only have a PS2 and domestic titles, that's one for each day of the week. If you're really starved for some fresh action, revisit older titles, make edits, make courses, make some fun with it. If you really want a solid release, give Konami time to actually produce one for once! This isn't like a yearly-installment game for offline consoles here; I think they're gearing this (and it's modes) for ongoing DLC content for multiple years to come, much like RB2.

It's either that, or emulation capabilities, and then making the different versions - even arcade ones - available for download/play; perhaps spruced up to modern graphical and gameplay standards. 4thMix PLUS with Marvelous timing and speed mods, anybody? Solo 2000 *with* the Nonstop Megamix stages? Heck, even just the potential of having a Konami Originals "complete mix" is truly groundbreaking. Whatever way you look at it, it's probably gonna be worth the wait!

I'd rather they just make this "next year's release," and allow X2/HP3 to be DLC, to be honest.

It already is "next year's" release...especially when we were all calling it DDR '09

I don't really think they've been holding the game back due to not enough people having 360s/ps3s. 360 came out in what, 2005. Its been out for 5 years. The price for the consoles can be affordable if you look around, especially for used units.

I think they mainly pushed it back to actually make it like X2 ac. I kind of hope they scrap the character models they were using, and just upscale the stuff they are using for X2 AC. I don't think the realistic looking characters really fit well for DDR.
