Bernie was very much not the best of the four, dug his own grave as the race for the Democratic nomination wore on, and even if he had managed to win the nomination, would have lost by a much larger margin to Trump because educated American voters cold have easily distinguished the more qualified candidate from the other.

This year's electorate was something entirely different. You have an entire group of people who are FUCKING SICK and TIRED of getting called, "uneducated bigot white redneck jesus gun freaks" by these pompous holier-than-thou "intellectual elites" who think they know what's best for the others despite the night-and-day lifestyle differences. That being said, I'm more surprised that Trump did win instead of Hillary. Though we are NOT a democracy, we are a republic, a republic that has certain methods of voting, aka: electoral college.

So what if one state can't declare itself free and suffrage to all illegals and foreigners and dictate by mass numbers? It's not the fucking end of the world, people. Has Donald Trump killed the brown people yet? Has he drafted you to fight China yet? Has he actively suppressed you? Has he personally gone out to beat you up in the streets? Has he gone to toss you over the US-Mexico Border?

NO. HE NEVER WILL. Get a brain, right now -- find one, STAT.

Huge Trump protests across the country, hung around the one in NYC to see what would happen.

Nothing happened.

I figured they might get rowdy, but it was just a lot of shouting, taking selfies and checking twitter. This is not a protest, this is hanging out in a mass assembly while disturbing the peace. Chicago does protesting right, cause they actually fight the police, like you should if you're gonna protest. I don't condone fighting officers, but if you're protesting, it's basically tradition.

Unless people want the government to be run like a business. In that case, both Bernie and Hillary are pretty underqualified. Bloomberg and Trump definitely qualify for that, more Bloomberg imo. Carly Fiorina too but she's kinda a joke because of her time at HP.

One last note for some of you alarmists out there:

You're all acting EXACTLY like Republicans in 2008. Obama's done his time as president, and they thought he'd be the second coming of Joseph Stalin, himself. Guess what? He hasn't. Barack Obama will likely go down as an average president whom did some things, said some things, plus another 9/11 didn't happen under his watch, so that's a good thing, too.

Donald Trump is NOT the second coming of Adolf Hitler. After this election hype settles, people will go back to their lives as per usual. Momma's gonna shift her 500 pound fat ass on the couch while watching Jerry Springer, Daddy's gonna go to the same 9 to 5 office job he absolutely hates, Brother's gonna stay home from class to play World of Warcraft, Sister's gonna stay home from class to chat on Facebook with her friends.

TL;DR: Nothing's gonna happen, Americans are pretty comfy and well-off with their geezmos and gadgets.

I think the closest he's going to be is an orange Berlusconi.

Here's the thing: ball's in the Democrats court now. They have 4 years to fix all the shit that has been shown up about them. Although knowing how weak the crop of nominees were when the Republicans were in the same boat in both 2008 and 2012 I don't think they're going to change shit. I expect 2020 to have more of the same "vote for me or else you're a ____ist" rhetoric. Let's be honest, that sort of thing is only going to get bigger now. The people that think the country has a systemic racism/sexism problem now think they're right because a) they don't think Hilary's shit stank, b) by being on the losing team they can now claim they're in a minority which is what they probably wanted all along, and c) in Trump they now have an acceptable target to pin everything they hate about everything on, regardless of whether or not it's actually Trump's fault.

tl;dr this election isn't going to shut tumblr up. Sadly.

Also, if Trump is right about TPP dying, then that's a good move from him. Now do the same to TTIP.

Today, my family got a new dog. It's a miniature Australian Heeler, and we're calling him Damo. His full name? Damo "You Fuckwit" Coates.

He also chewed up a small beach ball that I got from my graduation party from back in June, too, which made me feel sad. Oh, and he's a runt, meaning he got away with a bunch of bad things like teething. This means we'll have to train him to act normally.
