Being able to play the harder stuff without going through some of the worst experiences in rhythm gaming. I play to score attack so it's very inconvenient having to play a bunch of boring shit to get everything to actually start enjoying the game.
i don't have an issue with having to play my way to the difficult stuff. makes me feel like i've gotta work my way to earning it. and once the easy shit is out of the way, you don't need to go back to it again, so that's a plus.Post #29242 · Posted at 2016-11-07 12:34:21am 8.6 years ago

I agree with Sig. Even if I have to start with the easy shit, it's a driving force to continue playing the game. If there was an unlock all songs code, then half of the entire game is gone, and I wouldn't have the satisfaction of unlocking Pluto Relinquish if I could just enter a code.
Not saying Mission Mode doesn't have its problems. It has issues of course.

... So if unlocking everything is the driving force to keep playing, what's the driving force after you've unlocked the game?
My main problem is that there's over a dozen CS DDR games and you only need to own one to get good at the game. When you're already good, you don't want to play Kick the Can Basic in the next game to unlock songs that you already know you can easily pass. It's just irritating having a 10+ game series and each one having a shitty mission mode where you have to unlock everything. I proved I was good in the /last/ 2 games, just let me play the new crazy shit. It's like finishing Dark Souls on the hardest difficulty and when booting up Dark Souls 2 you select easy mode.

Advancing and improving on the scores you've obtained, seeing how far you can go. Playing through the courses, completing the missions in the mission modes to 100%. Or do what I do when things get stale and delete the save entirely after a certain point and start up again, see if you can do it better, faster, more efficient.Post #29245 · Posted at 2016-11-07 12:51:13am 8.6 years ago

Unlocking everything in ANY game and getting bored of it is an issue.

Personally, I'd have had a lot more patience for most CS games with everything unlocked. I don't get bored with RB3's default songlist, and it's all there from the start.

DDR games should've had "unlock all songs" codes.

US CS games didn't get that ability until late in the Wii DDR Series, from HP3 to DDR II/HP5.
All of the JP CS games have this ability.

Oh my God. I hope you feel better soon. Constructing anything with your hands is not that simple. It's both physically and mentally draining. Take it easy, and build bit by bit!

Thank you, but after we're done with it, we went to the diner and got something to eat. Now I'm relaxing, watching Mythbusters. It's going good, I hope.

Some of the Ultramixes had All Unlock codes, too. I don't know for all of them, but U2 definitely did.

Ultramix 1 and 2 had codes you enter in the credits (on Port 4 to make the method less obvious). Ultramix 3 had a certain way of playing the credits minigame (opposite of the notes listed for a certain amount of time). Ultramix 4 had the "hover on certain menus in sequence".

Ultramix 4 is by far the hardest to do. I wish there was an easier way.

I remember nearly throwing my fucking Xbox controller trying to get the Ultramix 4 code to work, hahaha. I was eventually successful but dear god it was really damn frustrating
