No wonder NAOKI doesn't sing more often in songs...

If he did, people would be out of a job. He would be completely self-sufficient and need no one else to create songs. Women would faint upon hearing his manly vocals and chase him down to the ends of the Earth. He would never be able to sit down to produce masterpieces. There would be no DDR!

He realizes this. He keeps his amazing voice under wraps for emergencies only for those reasons.

Good god, that's good stuff. Boss song + NAOKI vocals = A song so awesome, no one could complete it on because his vocals just mesmerize you.

I went overboard, I know but I really didn't think he could sing like that on top of making a good majority of the DDR songs. O_O

Something worries about about this whole "urban" idea. Yes, they said it means that they will put in different genres of music, but can this still mean they will try to make those songs sound more... "ghetto" ish?

It means there will be random shooting and police sirens in the background. Sometimes the songs will just break off into agonized screams, then trail off into whimpering. Sometimes you'll hear heavy bass as from someone with a huge stereo going on a drive before their stereo gets stolen. Other times you'll hear the revving of engines followed by the scream cars taking of at max acceleration, occasionally leading to another screech and the smash of cars colliding.

That's what the "urban" theme means.

Instead of trying to act smart, why don't you actually try and explain by urban?

Because in case you haven't figured it out already, we don't really know what Konami means by "urban", and we won't really know until we have the game, or we get substantial reports from a location test.

Konami could mean anything, but you said "ghetto", so I figured I'd take that idea and run with it.

If you read the blog, it specifically says that urban DOES not mean just rap/hip-hop.

Basically, it was a post explaining that they are going to put a wide variety of music in the game. Look at the released songlist: it's not really that different from other US DDR games. It does have a few more 'urban genre' songs like U Can't Touch This and Sound of Freedom, but there are still plenty of dance/house/whatever music.
