Can I just commend hunterc's signature? That's pretty much the EXACT reason I haven't jumped on the GO hype train. I don't see a lot of people who are willing to wait the long wait for Niantic to really deliver the game that the fans were originally shown. And why have Onix if you can't have Steelix? Seadra, but no Kingdra? And the list goes on and on.

Holy crap, someone who agrees with me on Pokémon GO's lack of Pokémon, despite the fact that the game was released in 2016! I wish more people agreed with me about this game not having enough Pokémon...

Anyway, I and various other people, including my big brother, know almost exactly why it lacks all of the Pokémon from Johto and later regions--Niantic's a small company compared to Nintendo. Niantic also doesn't have the same amount of money Nintendo has, but it's not like they can simply lend some of their money to Niantic just to give them a helping hand in the production of Pokémon GO. Perhaps Nintendo's saving up their money for the remainder of the development of Pokémon Sun and Moon, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, their upcoming NX console, and possibly more things I don't know about?
