Agree. It's a "hard for the sake of hard" chart that most people don't like. The Island Song is a shining example of that.

I'm totally stoked for Heron-. Now there's a song that definitely could use a 15-16 chart. You can even hear the 16th runs in the song that don't exist in .

^ Exactly. Condor is full of fake difficulty. and if Heron turns to shit, I'll probably just make an edit myself (though I'm sure Konami will do a good job).

I wonder if they'd make an Empathetic CSP chart.

EDIT: Although over time, The Island Song has grown on me.

I'm loving the condor chart, it has a pretty solid flow. Of all of these, I think beautiful dream is my favorite.

Hmm...
- So disappointed that Heron got a shock arrow chart. So much potential wasted.
- Children of the Beat is decent but didn't add much besides a few crossovers. Again, would have been fine with a shock arrow chart here.
- Love Straight Oath !
- I dunno what to feel about Beautiful Dream . I like it but not sure if I love it yet.
- Enjoy New Gravity.

Condor follows the music. I think it's a great chart, though the freeze arrows make it harder to read. The Island song is really fun too. Maybe I just don't think 15s are hard?

I kind of like Condor , but that might just be because I really love the song. The beginning and the end are pretty great and fun and stuff but the middle is unnecessarily difficult.

Also, dat south CDP chart. I can't believe I'm saying this, but that is a wonderful shock arrow chart!

Shame it doesn't exactly work with 1/2 of its new mechanics (Having a note along with shock arrow walls). Interesting to see that they aren't just using 8-arrow walls in Double Shocks; has that happened before? Anyway, once it's all fixed, that is quite an interesting chart!

Having an arrow at the same time as a shock arrow set is disorienting because you don't get immediate feedback on how well you did, it looks kinda bugged but I guess it works. I'm glad they're trying new things though.

Am I the only one who was really happy to see a song with Tsukasa AND Aki Misawa in DDR?

That's what I was hinting at for "difficult for the sake of difficult" part. It's not a bad chart at all but that middle section irked me.

Pretty much all of these charts are good IMO. I'm really glad that WILD SIDE got a Challenge chart and equally disappointed that they went the Shock Arrow route with heron. Straight Oath looks really tough, maybe even 16-worthy (reminds me slightly of snow prism). And I'm also kind of disappointed with Condor. I didn't really think it needed a Challenge chart to be honest. The middle section doesn't bother me as much, but I really don't like what they did with the freeze arrows in the first part of the song.

New Gravity S- is probably the worst of all 8 new Challenges. It reminds me A geisha's dream (Ruffage remix) S-, some of the steps are so randomly placed =/

I strongly disagree with that. The steps fit the song well.

I was really Happy when I saw the songlist, I think I love all the Tsukasa songs with Aki Misawa... but Straight Oath turned out to be so awful, I think it's easily one of my worst 3 songs of this new mix... what a shame ):

Nah, I think the uninspired Children of the Beat gets the honor of "worst new chart". "Blah" is probably the best adjective I can come up with to describe those steps.
