So, I played this game for the first time yesterday...It was pretty fun and easy!
I only got to play one round of it, though, because so many people were at the arcade...

Can someone help me with how to change the difficulty of the song I want to play in the game?

My local Round1 (Middletown, NY) got a machine and I played a bit yesterday and today!

It's fun, I see myself playing more, but it's not quite as amazing as I had hoped. I worked my way up the difficulty, starting with the tutorials and ending with a level 7 song. While that level 7 song wasn't exactly breezy, I never felt like I was going to fail the song. It seems that this game is too easy to take seriously. Furthermore, one of the things I like about DDR is how precise those machines are (under most circumstances) and I know that if I miss a step, it's because I missed the step. Dancerush (or Dance Rush? DANCERUSH in all caps feels awkward) doesn't seem as precise - the machine kept indicating that I had three feet on the floor.

There aren't many songs, although I haven't really figured out how to unlock things. I have a bunch of stars but don't know their real significance. I hope there's more songs and harder songs coming in the future!

Also when it asked for mode, I only saw "Light mode" - I know Premium is locked for the US, but am I missing something regarding the Standard mode I see listed on Remywiki?

I don't want to rag on this game that just came out and *is* pretty fun, but I don't see it occupying a huge chunk of my life. I still want to try 2 player and see what that's like. In my mind, it'll be awkward, I still want to try!

Standard mode requires Paseli, so we can't access it.

You will see locked songs on the song selection screen (unless you haven't met the prerequisite, which only a few songs have), and you can use your stars there. You can also complete missions to reduce the price of a good number of the more expensive ones. If you have enough stars, you can unlock the song and play it right there. Note that the mission descriptions are in Japanese regardless of your language selection.

I've seen indications that the machine is inaccurate with some shoe types that aren't flat. This might be what you're seeing.

The game seems easy now, but it's the first release. When DDR first released, the highest difficulty was 8 (around 11-12 on the X scale). I expect we'll see more difficult songs in future releases.

Well that was fast, we've already had our first removal. BLOW UP seems to have been silently removed or at the very least is unavailable in the US.
