Believe it or not, this is my first song that I've stepped done by SOUND HOLIC. Anyway this was a request a friend of mine wanted to do and just to happen to fit this weeks quota with its female vocals. I do not have a legit banner or background so I used the contest's place holder just in case I don't get time to update it with some graphics. I really love how this one turned out. There's also a V-ery familiar step pattern in one part of the chart. ;)

I like the Polish songs. I remember you posted one last year as well, and I found at least one more in your personal category. I have a Polish board game friend who can maybe be enticed to played DDR with some of these.

I had a song which I really liked and fit the theme, but life got in the way last week. I have one for next week, though!

I think we should reconsider having 2 songs per person. Going through 50+ songs stopped being fun and started being tedious.

Still, I got some really nice songs to add to my collection. I wish I could give more points to a lot of the ones I liked, but here are the ones that stood out the most:





I took a whole bunch of notes on things I liked or didn't like, and a few notes about the timing of songs.



"Last Mint" and "Colors" were empty when I downloaded the whole pack.
If it's fixed now, sorry for missing those songs.

I didn't do the whole-pack download since I played them as they came, but the individual downloads for those songs should work fine.


Man, these took me way longer to judge than I expected- mostly because I had to play the majority of these multiple times to be sure of my opinion on them! As such, most of my ratings are based on just the highest-difficulty chart, unless specified with a (see description below).

= I couldn't clear the highest difficulty on a pad, so my vote is based on my experience playing the highest difficulty on the keyboard and the highest difficulty that I could clear on a pad. It's hard to compare these charts to the ones I can clear on a pad, but I try not to let the difficulty affect my voting.

+3 Clear ft. Mothica (Shawn Wasabi Remix) [ohaiimian]
A lot of very fun simfiles can come from just straightforwardly transcribing the most obvious rhythm in a song, but my favorites are the ones that know when to follow one voice/instrument, when to switch between them, and when to go off-script entirely. When done well, it feels amazing to play- like the dance is written to accompany the song, not just imitate it. It's a technique I seriously need to learn, and one you demonstrate skillfully here. I especially love the rhythm you create with those short 16th streams that start right after the drop and continue throughout the song, as well as the forced doublesteps on the "ah-ah-ah"s.

The feeling I got while playing this is hard to describe. The closest adjective I can think of is "empowering"- almost like the steps were creating the rhythm of the song! I wasn't familiar with the song, but the steps feel so natural and buttery-smooth that it seemed like I'd known the song for years. Super fun to play.

This one stands out to me for those longer streams at the end. Your patterns communicate the melody very well- you clearly paid attention to each and every note rather than just sticking a generic crossover or whatever onto those rhythms.

I Just Wanna See You - for using a song from a personal friend that stands on its own merits as a good song. Also, for tempting me to ask my father to use a song from his band for a future round...
Lato i morze - for being the song that best accomplishes the goal of the round to me. It doesn't sound too much like anything I've heard before, and it's pretty infectious. I love the strangely adorable bro-vibe these two vocalists give off (even if I can't understand a word they're saying).
Time, Love, and Tenderness - for being a particularly bold choice. While the simfile needs work in the audio department (syncing, cutting, and volume), it wrung some pretty good patterns out of a song that I think most of us would have overlooked as a steppable song.


Thank you to all the people that have given me feedback on Oh My Darling Don't Cry! In hindsight, yeah, I definitely see how I need to work on my consistency. I'll try improving that for this round.

My simfile for this round will again be coming Sunday. In truth, I haven't even finished the cut! I tried doing a song with live BPM, and... hoo boy. I'm considering just saving it for after the contest when I'll have more time, and picking a different, easier-to-sync song.

I just wanna let everybody know that I truly appreciate all the feedback (especially positive), votes, and honourable mentions that have been given to I Just Wanna See You so far. It means a lot to me, and it also means a lot to Quinton.

I'll have my votes, as well as my second file for [Girls Week] within the next 24 hours. I just played through them all and (since there are so many) I'm gonna play through them again just to dissect them a little more and make sure I'm sure in my decisions.

This is kinda odd.



It has three difficulties but the slot isn't being used (I assume the chart was supposed to be in the chart but somehow ended up in ). The problem is is a required difficulty... There could be an intended 10 footer that got left out (even though Benpai confirmed it's only 3 difficulties).

Does the file qualify as it does?

From the looks of the simfile page, the 11 is meant for the slot. I've PM'ed them and notified them about the possible mixup, so hopefully that'll be fixed sometime soon. For the time being, I think it is safe to assume that is really if you're planning to start reviews.

It figures that 4 hours before I go to bed to start a new work week I find the most amazing song for [Girls Week]. Hopefully another theme comes along that I can utilize this song for ^.^
