I know, I do hope to pass some of those high-level songs too, but right now I can't bracket or play flat-foot because the coordination hasn't come yet. Nonetheless, I keep playing now because I can pass stuff up to 12(unless I'm really stressed out from other things)

That's a good idea for Lucie too. Do you know anyone that plays ITG at all? Or at least someone who doesn't mind if you can practice it at their house at least once a week?

The dancing games community in Germany is very small.
And all my friends who live close to me have neighbors under them like me.... or are never at home...
Or they live to far away...

I wish we would have Arcades here...at least one in good condition.

Lucie, what about the place where you had your competition? Couldn't you talk to the organisers and convince them to let you play there once a week? (because that's all you need to get good at ITG, you don't need to play every day tbh ;) ) Alternatively you could hire it out (assuming the hall is something the public can book) and bring a few friends along to make the price bearable.

uuuhm, the place was a school, they won`t let me play there.... I can`t leave my pad at a school...no....that`s impossible.
And none of my friends would be interested in such an Idea. Cause as I already said: they live to far away or have the chance to play where they live( but that place is to far away from me)or are playing just for fun about once a month.
There is only this one way of moving to another apartment.

Lucie, i saw your post from the last page... damn it really sucks.

You can't give up like this !

I had (and i still have) MANY trouble for play those arrows games that i love (ITG & DDR), you have to fight and try some things.

First, learn to play on keyboard.
It might help your reading skills and increase your acuracy (worked for me), also you might try new stuff and doesn't get weird miss because of a sightread the next time you play it. And also, you might have some fun this way too

Secondly, i went to your profile then made a few research on the arcade location.
I found this place : Uncle Sam's American Sportsbar & Restaurant . You already went there. I know it's "only" a ddr extreme and you have to travel a bit, but that's interesting.
I think there is aprox' 30km, maybe you can take train or bus to go there ?

I know that this cab isn't perfect (i read it) but 50cts a game seems sweet. Also, if there is memory card slot it's even better (can save 150 scores + use some edits). If there is this and that you are interested, i might help you as well for this since a did a few edits.

But anyway, i use to play ITG only once or twice a year. And still, i improved. Why ? Because i improved a bit with ddr (i played a lot on extreme last year).

If I ever get to go to Germany next year, I am seriously going to visit this place. ^

I also remember that the Ramstein Air Force Base had a Pump cab at one of its restaurants, but I think you need a special military ID to get on the base. I'll have to do some looking around if I get to go next summer. Also, I might be visiting France and Netherlands too so maybe I could organize a meet-up. The chances are very slim, but it would still be cool!

Anyway, like Pan said, if you can at least get to that Extreme cab or the Pump cab as well, you will still get some good practice in. How much does a new apartment cost?

I can take a train to get there... I know that location is very close to me... but it`s expensive to getv there... mmhh, for understanding it you should know what it depends on how much you have to pay to get somewhere... just don`t know how to explain that.
Cause train is so expensive I go there on my bike when I have some money to play...
Or in one of my friends go there and they can take me with them in their car. But that happens only once in 3 months.
I used to go to that Arcade once in 2 months...just to play some DDR...
The condition of the screen became very bad....
I`ll try to go there at least once a month now...
Uncle Sams is a nice location Just hope they`ll do something about the screen....sometimes I can`t see the arrows on it...

I wasn`t there since february..maybe they fixed the left up arrows (yes, both) on the pum AC...that woud be cool.
But I won`t play ITG there...look at the "condition" button. "bad" is still to good for it.... the button must be "very very very very very bad!"

@margo: if you`ll go to uncle sams..tell me, I`ll go with you!!!
I just hate it to play there alone...maybe I`d go there a little bit more often but I HATE to play alone on Arcade...


Edit: Oh, how much does it cost is a good question... depends on where it is and the size and such stuff..
We don`t buy it, we pay about 400-500 euros per month....
But it costs about 1500 euros to move to another one, so...that`?s the problem...
I think we can find another one that costs about the same per month...but we don`t have money to move to another one...

@lucie: I'll let you know if I am actually going to Germany next year or not. My dad is getting deployed to Afghanistan this fall, but in the springtime, I've heard that he might be able to come to K-Town again and take my family along just like in 2007. I'm really hoping we can go, but I will be worried about moving my metal mats overseas(I'll probably just send one of them)

Lucie's problem is why I made sure to live in on the bottom floor when I lived in an apartment.

Back on topic, I got some decent scores this weekend.
Yeah, they're technically DDR songs, but I was playing on an ITG machine.

The squares are meant to represent "D" (unless you already knew this and were just trolling ). Also nice Great Attack Kyzentun, I assume you were doing a WinDEU?

silenttype01 was trolling. I was doing Decent attack. Great attack would be scores with lots of greats. When I do great attack, I can reliably get over 80% greats on 7s.
As examples:


Ice is a sorta long 10, 110 bpm with long 16th streams. I can get 98% when I FA it.

Great attack is easy...
But Decent Attack is really Hard! Cause you have to play completely off... but not tooo late/early cause you`ll get to many way-offs and will fail then, cause if you are getting only decents your lifebar will go down if you`ll get a way-off by mistake...but it won`t raise up again....
My best is a 21% pass on Mellow Hard (only 1 Fantastic and 5 Excellents, but many greats) and 16% pass on Mellow easy.

Oh my gosh!!!! I HATE HATE HAAATTTTTE Stepmania!!!!!! Why can't they make OpenITG for a Mac, WHY!?!?!?!

What's wrong with SM? I actually prefer it over OITG tbh, it's waaaay easier to customise, you don't have to sync it, the default timing window* and life bar are kind plus making local profiles is cakewalk. I only use OITG to replicate the arcade so whatever scores I get at home I can get on any ITG machine.

* = 22.5ms for Marvellous on J4 in StepMania compared to 21.5ms in OITG. Imo 1ms does make a difference, after playing lots of OITG playing on SM's timing windows feels like playing on Pump's timing window .

You don't mind if it's mobile quality right? (I can use my Nokia N95 to record it) The mainboard on my Sony Handycam is dead so I can't use that unless I fork out at least £70 to repair it.

Stepmania gives me lower scores, has no patience for me, and doesn't do half speeds. Also OITG has an easier to read layout. I would be so much better at ITG if I had both that and access to the arcade(or if my parents would let me out of the house to get to the arcade... or if the gas prices went down too)

Sorry about this ranting, I'm just frustrated because I finally was about to pass Operation Evolution(haven't passed since January) and I failed the very end.

No, I don`t mind a bad cam... I think your is still better than mine....
