Just an opinion - should I make a quick banner and BG for my two songs before voting begins? How much would that influence anyone's decision?

Having graphics is more important than having good graphics. Some people will just ignore files that don't have any graphics (or overtly terrible graphics).

Do not worry, people, I enjoy looking at MS Paint graphics.

I'll whip up two quick banners and bgs then today. Maybe I'll actually try to use some Photoshop! :O

Anyway submissions end, and voting begins Monday @ 5PM CST. Next week's theme will be announced around that time. Depends on when Tyma posts the next theme. Me and Tyma will switch off each week for announcing a theme.
