In DDR for PS3, jumps count as 2 separate steps. So, you can get a Perfect on one step and a Great on the other, or any combination of 2 step rankings on 1 jump.

That was also used in Solo Bass Mix, Solo 2000, MAX, MAX2, and EXTREME. (I basically grew up with the original combo system, especially in the newer releases since SuperNOVA.)

I remember that those versions counted jumps as two separate steps, but I did not know that it actually gave separate judgements for each arrow. Not too sure about the Solo versions, but I'm pretty sure that MAX, MAX2, and EXTREME didn't do that. Correct me if I am wrong, though.

The Solo versions did give separate judgments for each arrow during a jump.

MAX, MAX2 and EXTREME definitely did not do that. You either get a perfect or great for both arrows in the jump and the game will only count the judgment as one arrow, not two.

No, DDR just happens to be an acronym for both of those things.

Some of the BG Animations characters have names.
The girl in "i feel..." is called Maria, the anime-like girl in "I Believe In Miracles" is Mie-chan, the aliens in the background art of "Abyss" are called Taro and Amy.
The rabbit in "Blow My Whistle", the 3 guys in TSUGARU and lots more chars have names, but I really can't remember. Most are explained in NAOKI'S blog during the DDR EXTREME era.
