That and how the bg video for Trust was different for the NA CS just because the JP version had one part in the video that lasted literally lasted a second with blood going down Kamina's face. The ESRB needs to re-look the rating qualifications. Because I do think I am mature enough play M games. I hear swear words A LOT every day at school. I hear crude humour at school too. The blood I can partially understand, but I think most people over 13 are mature enough to handle that. Oh well that's life I guess

Are you kidding? It's pure garbage. The same steps that follow nothing are repeated god knows how many times during the chorus and the verse looks like a completely different chart and thus makes the whole thing a mess.

The song...enh. It pales in comparison to the majority of CJ's work, yet Only You is better than half the 4thMIX songs.

I have trouble believing this when HIGHS OFF U got into the North American EXTREME with an E for Everyone rating. Just do a google search for the lyrics, yes that line made it into the game. Two F bombs in one song and the ESRB was fine with it? I think they're just lazy and inconsistent. Of course we've always known that DDR games flirted with the Teen rating because the moment E 10+ came into existence every American DDR game from then on got it except for, like, the Disney games.


This is why they call them "step patterns". When done correctly a real dance repeats itself in time with the music. When the music changes, the pattern changes. I like this song more because it's one of the few songs in DDR that has steps that can be considered a dance, or the facsimile of a dance. I understand that many people, perhaps you included, just like the rattatattat of arrows more than doing an actual routine. As for the music itself, my original comment stands and I do agree with you that it's one of the best song in 4thMix... Not because the song is terrible and 4th is worse, but because the song is awesome and 4th is one of the better release Konami has put out (especially 4thMix Plus).

The Royalty Network has done it again and revealed 2 new possible licensed tunes for an untitled Dance Dance Revolution!

“Better Off Alone” (Hills/Hilson/Maultsby/Mosley/Mosley/Muhammed/Nelson) and “The Way I Are” (Hills/Hilson/Maultsby/Mosley/Mosely/Muhammad/Nelson) have been selected as a feature song in the game. We administer these songs on behalf of Jerry Lee (ASCAP).

Ahh... Better Off Alone... so we meet again! It's nice to see that they're still trying to get this song after what happened last time with it!

I love that song.

P.S. The Way I Are is actually a decent Dance song, even though it has some rap elements. I'd be happy to see it on DDR.

Oh, and by the by... it's not posted up on the official site yet, but most people who are attending San Diego Comic Con this year have already received an exhibitors list and Konami is going to have a booth at this year yet again.

I of course will be there and report on any scoops if there are any!

I just hope the booth isn't a disaster like it was last year... the booth they had was way too small, was heavily crowded most of the time... they even canceled a U1-Asami autograph session because of it! I hope there's better planning for it this year.

I wonder if the songs in-game (assuming everything is true) will be licensed or covers of the originals.

Interestingly, The Way I Are is also going to be on the new Karaoke Revolution game. Most likely will be a cover in DDR.

That is, unless Konami decides to use the original songs in this new KR game.

They announced that all the songs in the new KR are master tracks.

Personally, both these songs get my seal of approval. Better than most of DDR X's licenses for sure. What does everyone think?

I have always wondered why Better Off Alone didn't appear in MAXUS or EXTREME2 as it would have fit pretty well in those games.

I don't like The Way I Are. Even the title is retarded. And it sounds more like it would have fit into the X theme. I'm looking forward to the other licenses though. Better Off Alone got my attention pretty quickly.

Dammit, I thought I made it clear by the "The song...enh."

The worst song in DDR from most repeat artists is from 4thMIX and...ugh, don't get me started on Argie Phine and JP Miles.

3rdMIX was when Konami figured out how to write real steps and 4thMIX was a lull with few standout songs, but 5thMIX was an amazing comeback.
