Wotter is an amazing name. Just saying. <3 That should have been the original name for the pokemon. Not that dumb Oshawott pun that's barely a pun. You need to spend like 10 minutes deciphering it. At least, I needed to. XD
So which starter's stats are the best when fully evolved?

Now that I had some time to think about it "osha" would probably be their way of saying "ocean".
So oshawott = osha (ocean) + wott (otter) there for its an ocean otter.

From Jan 3rd - Feb 6th Gamestop is having a pokemon event where you'll get the Shiny versions of the Legendary Dogs of Johto for HG/SS. These Shiny Pokemon are required for a in-game event in the upcoming Black & White Versions to obtain Zoroark.
Here's the run down of the event.
From Jan 3rd - Jan 9th you can obtain Rikou.
From Jan 17th - Jan 23rd you can obtain Entei
From Jan 31st - Feb 6th you can obtain Suicune
This event will lead up to the release of the latest movie Zoroark: Master of Illusion (or Phantom Champion Zoroark if you follow the Japanese title) on to DVD (and maybe BR)

So I was playing SS while I was traveling.
I spent the first 1 hour constantly resetting to get a nature on my Totodile that I believe didn't suck. After a while, I said to hell with this and settled for an female Adamant Totodile. Turns out I got the optimal nature when I looked it up. I then proceeded to fuck up her EV's by doing what you normally do with a starter: play the game.
Blah blah blah, Went to get my Lugia when I got the Silver Wing and raged when I found out I needed the Tidal Bell. When I got it, I got a Timid Kadabra with Synchronize so the thoughts of destroying the game would be minimized when I went nature searching. Got my Timid Lugia on the first try. I then ran around Cianwood with a Lugia following me and giggled like an idiot for 15 minutes.
Resetted a billion times for a nature that I didn't hate on the ExtremeSpeed Dratini. Got Quiet. Resetted a billion times on Red Gyarados. Got Jolly. Fucked up the latter by battling a few times. Turned it into a HM Slave before deciding the Nidoran I left in the daycare would be more random for HM's. Modest Nidoqueen no EV's with Surf and Mystic Water. Choice Specs would have been more lulz in retrospect.
Went back and forth on what to EV train as my first pokemon in SS. Went with Lugia over Dratini since being lv 45 instead of lv 15 made things much easier. Found out that she can't OHKO lv 25 Slowpoke 100% of the time with Extrasensory. Got my Great Wall of Lugia in about 2 hours.
Tested fully EV'ed Lugia against Elite Four. Found out that Nidoqueen's SP Atk doesn't suck too bad and OHKO/2HKO'ed a dozen E4 Pokes. Found out that Ice Fang from Feraligator doesn't cut it against 3 Dragonites. Lugia walled those pussies like a champ, eating Hyper Beams, Thunders, and various other Dragonite-based bullshit for breakfast. Also: my team can't take a hit. Had to trade Thunder Waves with Dragonites. An Aeroblast OHKOed Charizard for game.
TL;DR: silent give me an arceus plz

Hello 2011! and to kick things off there is another pokemon event in the pipeline.
Celebi Event
From Feb 27th-March 7th you can obtain Celebi for D/P/P or HG/SS @ your local Gamestop store.
As you already know with Celebi you can take him to the Celebi Shrine in the Ilex forest to start the Giovanni event. However as soon as Black & White comes out you can transfer Celebi take him to the Game Freak HQ in Castelia City to obtain Zorua.

There were three gamestop events throughout January/February that allowed you to download the shiny gerbils for the upcoming Black/White games, coming out in March. You are able to get them from the Mystery Wi-fi event if you missed out on any of them, starting with Raikou.

Sorry to correct you, but they are the Legendary Dogs of Johto, not gerbils. And Yes there is a Wi-Fi event currently in place for those who missed out on the Gamestop events.

They can't be dogs since Raikou is more of a cat. This type of argument bothered people to the point that the community named them the legendary gerbils to stop further stupid arguments.

I'm going to my first pokemon tournament today. wooo
I'm not expecting to win since I haven't EV trained anything and my team kinda sucks. I don't care if I lose though. The prize is Black or white and the guide. I already have all of them pre-ordered and paid for, so I'm in it for fun. Should be interesting to see if the turnout is going to be other 20ish year old people or more adolescent-based.
Team I'm using: Torterra, Alakazam, Vaporeon, Arcanine, Ampharos, and Staraptor
