I don't understand the whole Fire Fire thing on Tuesday....any other bemani songs they could use this trick with during the week? Arrow Week??

Tuesday in Japanese is "Kayoubi", which means "Fire Day", and the Kanji used to represent Tuesday is the kanji for Fire.
Hence the reasoning for GOLD RUSH possibly being unlocked on Friday. Friday = "Kinyoubi" = "Gold Day".

Also, the idea for using Pluto 冥王星 to unlock Mei is incredibly smart.

But, also, doesn't it seem like people are unlocking things a bit too quickly? I mean, counting 冥, GOLD RUSH, and the DDR X2 CS NA KO's, we've already got 67 new songs. I remember it being stated that there would be something like 71, so add the next level(s) of Replicant D-Action and maybe one or two extraneous unlocks and we're done!

It seems to me like SN2's unlocks were mostly time unlocks, X's were a mix between time unlocks and fullfilling gimmicky requirements (X-Specials), now X2's is pretty much entirely gimmicky requiremets (AAAing songs to get their remixes, Replicant D-Action songs). Thus why info about the songs seem to be coming quicker, even though they actually take a lot more effort to unlock when you're actually playing it.

I wouldn't really expect too many more unlocks other than what's already on the machine. Unless X2 really is just monumentally better than the last 3 or so DDR mixes.

It'd just be nice to see Americans/Europeans get to try their hand at unlocking the songs too... but if it's like the last two mixes, we'll just get the time-unlocks. Hopefully we'll get to see some use to REPLICANT!

Hopefully for us they set it so that the Replicant folder becomes regularly available for Extra Stage after about 4 passwords or so rather than just going from no Replicant songs to having them all unlocked entirely.

Talking on the phone with Colorofsakura led to some interesting speculation.
I wonder if this is the 96 song? Sounds like something they would name a song to me.

There is no 96 song in this game, at least that we know of. He is not listed in the "composers" section and that place everyone thinks is "96" on the credits list is actually just "jun".

It seems that things are being unlocked quickly because the japanese demographic are capable of fulfilling the requirements to unlock the songs. I know for a fact that I will never be able to unlock any of the remixes because of my inability to AAA a song at the arcades.

As viper mentioned, the requirements to unlock the songs are gimmicky in a sense, but you have to be a top-tier player to unlock them. AAA a song now means to have a larger marvelous/perfet to great ratio. Risky mode does not permit you to break your combo at all, and it seems that it's a viable method to even access the Extra Stage songs.!

So if you're to take the good players out of the equation, we wouldn't be getting any information at all until the time unlock codes come out.

However, this game will be a lot harder to the NA players because of the condition of the X pads. Getting a pad miss with Risky mode on is asking for people to rage quit

There are so many regulars missing from the songlist, that I doubt they're going to throw in a guest artist, this late into the unlock system. We haven't seen any new Darwin or Naoki, only 2 new songs from TAG, and we don't know anything about the "big surprise" Yuichi Asami was bragging about, a few days before the game's release.

All 4 of those are huge contenders for the Big Bad Boss Song, and given how fanservice-driven the game's been so far, U1 and Kors K are really good bets. There's no way it's going to be some random song with no connection to DDR or Beatnation.

Also, where was U1 "bragging" about this big surprise? I don't see it anywhere on his Facebook.
