Speaking of Nintendo... people are freaking about over this years Nintendo's E3. Why? Because of this text: Zelda will be the only playable game at E3. For some reason, people didn't read the playable part of the text and automatically assume Zelda is the only game that'll be shown at E3 and no other games will be revealed. This is not the case. Of course Nintendo will show off other games, they just wont be playable as a demo for you to try, ececpt for Zelda.

I'm so relieved that ZIv is up and running again. Now, today, May 10, holds a certain significance to me as it is the 1-year anniversary of when I first became a HARDCORE BEMANI fan back in 2015. Sure, I've heard of DDR since kindergarten (2007-2008) and Pop'n Music since 2010, but I was never really "into" them like I am now. So, here are a few questions and answers regarding how I became BEMANI-obsessed last year.

How did you become so obsessed over BEMANI?:

It first started late in April 2015 (I think it was April 27), when I was remembering how much fun I had had a year ago (in April 2014) at the Pine Grove Dude Ranch in Kerhonkson, NY, where I played loads of DDR on an arcade machine. (argh, I can't remember whether it was SuperNova or SuperNova 2...if I did I would be making an arcade page for Pine Grove here on ZIv...) So, I went to YouTube and watched loads of DDR videos. Then, one day, I saw a Pop'n Music video in my "Related Videos". Knowing the game looked familiar, I clicked on the video. Suddenly, I started to watch loads of Pop'n Music videos, and then I became interested in ALL the BEMANI games. So, I would say the Pop'n obsession dates back to, like, May 8th, and the true obsession with all the BEMANI games started to bloom around one year ago today.

Why is Pop'n Music your favorite BEMANI game?:
It's not just because of that character I'm obsessed with, Alt - even if Alt didn't exist, I would probably still be into Pop'n, I just wouldn't be obsessed over her. The first reason why I love it so much is because of all the characters! The second reason why I love it is because of the gameplay - like DDR (which I'd say is tied with Reflec Beat for being my 2nd favorite BEMANI game), the gameplay is straightforward and simple to learn, but the advantage Pop'n has is its wide rating scale. I'd say Pop'n is a bit easier to "master". The third reason I love it so much is because of the wide variety of music - there are songs of almost every genre you could think of in Pop'n.

Why Alt?:
There are MANY reasons why I'm obsessed over Alt (and Alt 2.0). First of all, even if she and Alt 2.0 didn't have a voice (like most of the Pop'n characters), I would still love them. They are just too cute. I mean, seriously. The fact that Alt has the little arrow keys on her dress and the mouse/pocketbook are utterly adorable. I also really love Alt 2.0's outfits. Granted, I wouldn't be AS obsessed over them (I would probably just view them as "just another Pop'n character", like back in 2010-2012 when I was kinda into DDR and Pop'n) --- as it's the fact that they SING and aren't really just Pop'n characters in that sense is what made me REALLY obsessed. Seeing songs credited to "seiya-murai feat.ALT" in other BEMANI games made me feel amazed - the characters were more like music artists than just random characters, and that got me pretty hooked. Besides, their robot voice is pleasant to listen to and fits perfectly with Alt (and Alt 2.0). It's cute and computer-y, just like them!
