Ugh. Sometimes I wonder if this site is getting more jerkish and jerkish the more I remain on it.

Don't worry. If users are being jerks, it probably has nothing to do with you!
It's just them, and it's their loss!

Yes it does. It seems like they're belittling me just because I don't have the same mindset as them.
I'd like if they minded their own business but oh well. -_- Bye.

So I've had a hell of a week.
The bad: Been sick most of the week because of a stomach bug (could be food poisoning) and I've only had 6 crackers and a bowl of soup. I've lost 10-15 pounds in the last 5 days. Just in time for end of course projects!
The good: Someone who I've been good friends with for years is well..... Let's just say we might be turning into more than best friends. ♥

I absolutely despise anything to do with stomach bugs. They really debilitate you.
Also, about the "more than best friends" bit, ooooo git em!

"that's crazy" |
So me and a friend has had an interesting conversation, a slight argument. One of those "DDR vs. osu!" arguments.
DDR is pretty much fuckin' done for consoles, while osu is still alive on a non-arcade machine. As far as fanbase goes, DDR is 50 times more popular than osu. DDR is kinda more family-friendly than osu, while osu is (I'll admit) more meant for weeaboos, according to many people. DDR is meant for legs, osu is meant for arms. Which ever body parts you want stronger, that music game is for you. (don't know if I worded that right) As far as my mind goes, DDR is pretty much the franchise I grew up with and put most of my passion and heart towards, while osu was one of the fastest games to become a favorite of mine. (took 3 hours for to be on my imaginary list of favorite games)
So which rhythm game franchise wins? ....you answer that. I /equally/ love both franchises.

I'd have to go for DDR. It's been a long time favourite for me, and while I kinda liked the games that inspired osu, it just doesn't appeal to me.

osu! has never appealed to me since I've never played Elite Beat Agents or anything similar to it. Not only that, I'm certain if you want to play osu! the right way, you'll need a drawing tablet...which I'll most likely never get since I very rarely draw things.
DDR's been a long-time favorite of mine as well, even if my being physically unfit prevents me from trying to get past anything that's about a 15 or harder.
In short, DDR wins.

DDR for sure. osu! = huge breasts everywhere
DDR = fun songs
although I have to admit, DDR/StepMania is kind of "out" lately, which is really sad.

About the DDR vs. osu thing...
DDR wins, and it always will to me. DDR is simple to learn, and IMO, more "simple to master" than osu, which seems to be a lot more complex to learn and quite tough to master. Some of us here (like me) haven't even played Elite Beat Agents, which osu isa ripoff of based on, so it looks confusing and seems even more confusing to play if you haven't seen anything like it before. Stepping on moving arrows when they reach the outline of a stationary arrow is arguably more straightforward, which makes DDR more "approachable".
Now, some say the appeal of osu is that you can play and make beatmaps of any song. However, many of the songs people have made beatmaps of are anime songs, Vocaloid and Touhou trash, and Nightcore (annoying sped-up versions of popular songs you'd hear on the radio). Those types of songs seem to be appealing to Weeaboos, and to a lesser extent, mainstream teens (on this lip-syncing video-making app called musical.ly that people are REALLY INTO these days, lip-syncing to Nightcore songs has become somewhat of a trend). DDR appeals to everyone with its blend of songs. However, there are beatmaps of BEMANI songs, but THIS is what they're often like...
(Most osu players obsess over speeding up songs, it seems. And what does that random anime girl have anything to do with 8bit Princess? Alt's singing too fast for her own CPU here thanks to osu!)
Also, why get osu if you want to play and make charts of any song, but in DDR? That's why Stepmania exists - to make custom DDR charts! To conclude, DDR wins because it has more of a general appeal, is more simple, and, as an added bonus, thanks to simulators like Stepmania, you can play any song on it just like you would with osu.
