Arrabbiata is a 15.
Thanks for the correction. I think I can sleep better tonight.

Arrabbiata is a 15.
And it definitely deserves to be a 15.
I think we need to be able to play N. Delta to judge it.
They are very similar charts, with Arrabbiata being only slightly more difficult due to jumps and double stepping.

Arrabbiata is not nearly as straight-forward as NEPHILIM.

Chart: Well, that seems a little throwback-ish with all the jackhammers and crossovers going on there.
Music: It well ... sounds meh. It sounds like what things would be like if Yoshitaka did 888 instead, and ended up making rehashes of it like he did for Evans and Albida.

Without the bar is a 15, with the bar is a 14.
Sad, but true
Whether with the bar or not, NEPHILIM DELTA ESP is much easier than 888 ESP, And 888 ESP being a 14, will probably make NEPHILIM DELTA ESP a 14 too on X4.Sad, but true

Do crossovers really mess people up that badly?

Posting this for the Nth time to show how to do the exact same crossovers we were raging about 6 months ago :{

But that's the point I keep trying to make! Just looking at the chart for NEPHILIM DELTA I know I can full combo it without turning more than 45 degrees in either direction. That's any typical DDR songs when you're playing technically and not locking yourself in position with a bar.
Haunted Rhapsody is something else entirely. It looks like to play technically you have to throw a leg behind and higher up than the other. Now, I like charts that do that and it's a good way to be challenging without arrow spam and unnecessary stops and speed changes. But... NEPHILIM has nothing of the sort. There are two or three moments where a crossover shifts from top to bottom and if you stepped into it with the correct foot all you do is adjust your body vertically, then it's over. It's not a repeating, continuous pattern LIKE FOR INSTANCE AFRONOVA so you never have to fully turn to nail the sequence. And as soon as you're done, the chart brings you forward again.
The Doubles chart for NEPHILIM DELTA -does- have sequences that turn you side to side if you want to play technically, and it still only feels like a solid 14. It is also easily harder than Singles.

Nephilim Delta looks harder than Shiny World and Pierce The Sky and those 2 are 14s. This looks like a good stamina song for new-era players.

I won't get to play it until I get home this weekend, but it looks like you have to step backwards in parts, just never onto the up arrow.
Also, changing your orientation in the middle of streams to set yourself facing the right direction for the next stream? That looks fun.

man, whats up with all this complaining over the rating? DDR has never been perfectly accurate at rating songs in the first place, thats why we have a whole thread related to re ratings.
I played today and played Nephlim delta several times and in my opinion it deserves a 15 based on other songs rated 15. As for 888 and this, they are about the same in my opinion but I also think 888 is under rated and should be a 15.

People are...supposed to not complain about Konami making mistakes because Konami always makes mistakes, which makes it okay, because they're loveable idiots?

NEPHILIM DELTA is interesting. Not L.E.D.'s greatest work ever, to be sure, but it ain't bad. (As L.E.D. boss-ish songs go, this strikes me as less interesting than the Insaner remix.) Not the greatest stepchart ever...but it ain't bad. Not the greatest album art ever, but it's still pretty awesome, actually. Personally, I'd almost say it deserves its 15, for general relentlessness, but it's really really straddling that borderline. It would be nice if Konami provided even one new song indicating that they hadn't forgotten about the entire upper quarter of their rating system, though!
Also, L.E.D. song titles that just smush two random cool-sounding words together sort of arbitrarily are my favourite L.E.D. song titles of all.

I got to play today but only got in one game so I only had one run at Nephilim Delta
Oh, if anyone wants a higher res image of the banner, I took a photo and clipped out just the banner image as is, but feel free to pretty it up some more
http://aaronin.jp/shashin/nephilimlogo.jpg
I passed it but didn't have the greatest score (I'll probably laugh about this score later anyways). about 3/4 of the greats were in the repeated steps in the last half and the last 100 or so steps in general.

For me it is a borderline 14/15 based on length and speed. The stepchart itself isn't anything too bad but the speed and length really add to the difficulty.
It's only too bad the arcade was so blooming loud thanks to all the new Sound Voltex machines that I couldn't hear anything from the DDR machines
What are you on about? The point Derek was making (or at least the impression I get) was that the argument over something as trivial as a number indicating difficulty level (which is partially subjective to the player anyways in the end) seemed to be overshadowing the discussion on the song/chart itself.

I like the break near the end of the song. It's long enough to make anyone think that the song is over. I know I would have walked off if it was the first time playing the song.

I consider Outer Limits easier than this and that IMO is a low 15. Outer limits doesn't spam crossovers at you which adds a lot of difficulty to Nephilim Delta.

Doesn't Outer Limits have a "fixed" chart from DDR Festival which is harder and better?

Yea, the Ultramix one would barely be a 14 and Festival/SN2 would be a 15 if only the 8th runs.
Outer Limits SN2 vers. below...
This why IMO, ID falls in the middle of the 15 category.

You consider a song that runs at 342BPM easier than a song that runs at 220BPM?
