At least lil wayne isn't the anouncer. Annoyed Could you imagine that voice or T-Pain's.

I would've had nightmares if Lil' Wayne was the announcer. We should hold a petition to bring back Londell Hicks.
Why does everyone treat me like DDRSN2?

I think the announcer and cheering makes the experience much better. Playing ITG feels like serious business.

It's interesting that you say that, because the lack of an announcer/crowd does little to make it seem "serious" to me. ITG has always seemed serious to me because of its dark (and what I find to be unappealing) themes, whether its with the songwheel, the background videos, or the noteskins. It also doesn't help that ITG's music leans more toward techno and other 'dark' sounding genres with significantly less Bubblegum pop and Happy Hardcore than DDR.

So, I think the reason DDR seems more "oh, let's just have fun" is because of the colorful interfaces and its lean towards happier sounding music.

basically,

tl;dr DDR = colorful and happy, ITG = technical and SRS BSNZ

But overall...they're both just 4-panel dance simulation games.

"I'm honestly pissed off."
ITG's theme is more conducive to high scores.
DDR's theme is more conducive to epilepsy.

Oh, and before someone points it out, yes, current common backgrounds aren't as bad for scoring as back in the Extreme days (or some of the stuff on Pump Pro), but most of them aren't as good for scoring as ITG.

I see that as an extra challenge to be honest. Just learn to ignore the backgrounds.

Do you regard the noisy air hockey players and random jerks that yell in your ear the same way?

Obviously. >.>

You can either play with them or not play at all because where ever there is an DDR/ITG machine, there will be random noise as well.
The Heavens! The Earth! And a million squirrels call to me! Huh? What...they don't?

I've rarely found DDR backgrounds distracting unless we're talking about Ultramix or Universe; then pretty much every background is distracting and could be a legitimate health risk.

The main problem of The Cards in DDR are the images ... cool images stuff dissapear after Extreme. No more backgorund images after Extreme just banners... crappy banners actually.

Yes deal with it. You'd be lucky to find an arcade without some form of distraction here.
