In the case of YouTube, you can probably save the video on to your desktop and watch it offline. Here's one way to do this: On the video link URL, add "ss" in front of "youtube" such that you have "ssyoutube.com/watch?=..."

So I'm cleanly sightread PFCing HealingDMax's file for TOI (which btw was well done so far) and then my neighbor absolutely BLASTS Work by Rihanna and I couldn't hear the song, thus throwing off my time. Remember, it's 12PM on the East Coast. Unacceptable. Just... no. Why is this allowed to happen?

@Hunter - look up "ZenMate," there's a 7-day free trial but you can keep re-registering with new email addresses if you want. Basically it's a VPN, so you can set your location to whatever country you want and it'll act as though you are browsing from there. The free version also has some countries, but not as many as the premium. With the free version, you can browse from the U.S., Hong Kong, Romania and Germany, but you can browse from up to 15 more, including Canada, UK and more.

I had a pretty random encounter over the weekend.

On Friday night I went to a birthday party for a friend of my boyfriend's. It was a pretty small gathering of about 15 people and since the host's husband was Japanese, about half the guests were Japanese as well. I was talking with one girl at the party who recognized me from when I worked at a cafe in Little Tokyo years ago. She tells me she works as a make-up artist and motions to the guy sitting next to her, telling me he's famous in Japan. Naturally I'm curious, so I ask her what he's famous for and she says he's in a group called AAA.

I was into J-Pop years ago but never really listened to AAA and was only familiar with their song Hide away as it was featured in DDR X2, so I asked them if it was the same group that did that song. The guy (his name is Atae Shinjiro btw) seemed genuinely surprised that I was familiar with AAA at all and asked if I knew the song from an anime or something. I told him it had been used in a DDR game, but he had no clue what DDR was, even when someone tried to describe it to him. We all ended up watching a few AAA music videos together, he was a pretty chill dude and was fluent in English too.

It's too bad I wasn't more familiar with AAA's music, but somehow I found it cool that his group had a song in DDR haha.

I got matcha milk tea for the first time and I think I'm in love. Normally I get bubble or thai milk tea.

I find it interesting that he had no idea what DDR was or that his song was in it.

I suppose that artists don't always know where their songs are used, but I find it hard to believe that he's never heard of DDR. I feel like most people here knew what it was from 2000-2005.
