There was one user (I think it was hamsand210-final) who stated that it would be nice if the Tournament of Immortals would start around mid-late March, and it's a possibility that Pandomenium X listened to him. So, today was my regional spelling bee! One of the words was "fugacity", which of course reminded me of Fuga from Pop'n Music. I also had to spell the word "balalaika", which of course reminds me of a certain Julie Ann Frost song from GF&DM, DDR and Pop'n...
Another word was "parquet", which of course reminds me of a certain duo who performed songs in Pop'n Music games.
I came in second place the last two years, but this year I came in ninth place. I'm still proud of myself - I wasn't even sure if I would come in the top 10 this year! I got out on the word "divagate", which is an antiquated word that means "divide" or "diverge". It is a verb. Because it's pronounced "div-uh-gate" (that "uh" was so ambiguous), I was thinking it was either spelled "divigate" or "divogate". I went with "divogate". (Either way, I would have been wrong.
)
I'm still extremely proud of myself! This is my last middle school-age spelling bee - I'm hoping that high school spelling bees exist so that I can finally come regionally in first one year! To celebrate, I'm going out to dinner to the all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet.
