Good morning.
Most of you (if not, some) may be aware of a continued concern toward athletic concussions and brain injury in the United States. The concern has caused a nationwide plan of action to prevent them in sports played by all ages; even those in my social circle have experienced this change in the sports they play. Concussions are a very serious issue that must be met with caution in everyday conversation; sometimes its better left never said.
As you may be aware, I have proudly displayed my profile image on Twitter for nearly ten months until Wednesday, March 30. The former image depicts an Anime character nicknamed 'Osaka' being hit in the head by a volleyball, which I have recently realized is insensitive to volleyball players who have had concussions and/or head trauma. Although I have received no private discourse over the nature of the image, I have decided in the best interest of current events to replace said image. I am sorry for any insensitivity that the image may have triggered as a result of my ignorance.
The profile image I have selected in its place depicts the character in a state free of any insensitive content or evidence that she has brain damage. I must encourage you to look at my profile image and see how happy she is compared to the old profile image.
From this moment on, I will never tweet any text or image that depicts controversial or insensitive content no matter how much it relates to said topic. This means there will be a drastic decrease in the amount of tweets I post. However, I think you won't notice the difference.
