So, I brought my Alt plushie to school and everyone loved it, even those who don't know about Pop'n Music. (Which is, like, 99% of my school). Everyone wanted to touch it and snuggle it. One person even said it looked like I bought it in a store!

Many times. I just said she was from an arcade game I played. I didn't say Pop'n Music specifically because it is pretty obscure and they wouldn't know.

A friend of mine gave me this today. It contains the first two tracks from this soundtrack called "Galak-Z: The Dimensional". Some nice, retro-inspired, synth-driven stuff with some modern touches! The two tracks on this vinyl are also free downloads on the soundtrack page, so yeah, you can grab 'em too!

I wish I could bring BEMANI gaming back to my town. Sometimes our Library will have gaming events and I'll bring with a bunch of my PS2 DDR games, and that's always a good time -especially when I get the chance to do a hard song for everybody else. Last time we had this event, I pulled off an 'A' on Xepher , and everybody applauded afterwards.

We gotta bring back DDR.

I do think DDR can come back. It will never be the phenomenon it once was (thanks to advancing technology allowing people to follow actual dance routines rather than freestyling or just following the arrows), but I think it can be revived as a game of skill (e.g. PAC-MAN).

Excellent point! I was introduced to DDR through my gym classes in elementary school. I'm in middle school now, and I wonder if the elementary school gym teachers still play DDR with the kids...because that would end up having them turn into a whole new generation of BEMANI fans like me...

And I think I'm pretty much the only one in my town who knows about Pop'n because whenever people in my town think of "arcade games" they think of redemption games from the billions of times they went to chuck e cheese and Dave & Busters as young kids and have never even heard the word BEMANI before or been to Tri-County, the place in my town with arcade machines (INCLUDING POP'N AND DDR) that nobody seems to touch except the occasional DDR aficionado and the occasional little kid. AND ME.
