For Sound of Freedom, I didn't even think that song would ever be in DDR. I kinda wish they used this version of the song.

Everybody's Free

It would make a half decent DDR song.

it sounds to generic. (no offense Blushing)

None taken. I too think its just average sounding at most. Its just if I had to choose from Sound of Freedom and the other version, then I pick the latter. But hey, I am just glad we get Sound of Freedom in general.

There's a new blog entry in the Japanese DDR STAFF BLOG talking about the September release of DDR X PS2.

It mentions there will be differences in the JP and NA versions, I just think that means the NA will be inferior in such a way that it WILL NOT include all songs that are due to appear in DDR X AC. Kinda expected really but did they really have to suggest it that loud? Tongue

"On ZiV I'm like Princess Diana"
Seems to also imply that the NA songlist will be smaller than the JP one?

Hey, at least they're being blunt about it.

I'd like at least 2 or 3 songs that we don't know about from X (AC) yet~~~

From what I got from it, I don't think they said "it will be inferior" but just it WILL be different. Which it will be. They're probably talking about the song list.

Seriosuly, if you guys are expecting this to be an exact clone of DDR X JP, you got your hopes up.

Japanese blog rough translation (babelfish):
Quote: Japanese blog
Everyone today. It is the [ma] ~ [mu] of the DDR production staff. Now you can play in inside, “X” has been produced. From last month one for business was risen with the location test, but also one for home presently is in the midst of ardent producing. In next month September game software “DanceDanceRevolution X” for home is sold in North America. Even in everyone who reads here, is not the person where the information which reaches from the other side of the sea becomes matter of concern to be, probably will be? As for the Japanese edition and the North American edition, as for the basis it is to be simultaneous, but recording tune and detailed game contents are different delicately. We would like to introduce various thing to also Japanese everyone, quickly,… with this time of today when you think is. [ma] ~ [mu"......

I wonder what they mean by "different delicately".
man, I can understand there being differences in the songlist, but I honestly don't see any reason why "game content" should be any different at all. Thats just not being fair.

so far out list of KO's looks good and solid, but only 13 licenses? 2 of those aren't even actual licenses, but winners of the broadjam contest!
I hope I don't get stoned for this, but I hope we at least get 20 good licnses like EX2/ SN.

SN2 for me impressed me with licenses (probably the only person who thinks this way, but I really do). SN had licenses I didn't care about other than Freckles and The Other Side.

I was thoroughly impressed by SN2's license list!!

its just I thought there were a few too many licenses.

If konami's gonna give us that many licenses they need to beef up the KO count as well!Wink

I am really hyped about this mix... I better get this the day it comes out, SN2 was a HUGE disappointment for me, though the JP version is great. I am liking this list so far though... I am just hoping we get some better AC KOs, and a correct game build, I hated that it ran on the SN engine... But at least it held me over until the Japanese version came out.

I wonder what they mean by "different delicately"..

Protip: Babelfish sucks Tongue.

The word that is used is 微妙 (followed by に to make it an adverb) which probably means in this context "subtle".

I can tell you that I will notice the SUBTLE difference ;).

I forget where Shivers is on my favorites list, but I know that it is up there somewhere with Freckles. I also like The Other Side, but I wonder if maybe this version could be included in a future DDR.
Music is always running in my mind... Everyday, songs old and new come to mind.
...
I wonder how a DJ Hero-esque mix of an AFRONOVA medley and Fascination MAXX would sound...

"Gimme a mothaf----n' break!"
Yeah, that version sounds a lot better. Speaking of different versions of licensed songs, even though I'm hoping that Two Months Off will appear on here, I actually kinda prefer the ACTUAL song by Underworld to make it on here. Yes, I know it would be rather strange for Konami to get the actual version while they already were able to cover it, but still.

My Favorite song right now is 30 Lives (Up, Up, Down, Dance Mix) by The Motion Sick. I asked the band on Myspace if they could uploaded to their profile and they did! If anybody wants to add it to their profile you can find it here: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=402596001

It is strange for Konami to license the original after making the cover, but the reverse has been done twice, which baffles me.

Feels Just Like It Should: Original in DS Unleashed 3, cover in SN AC
Burn Baby Burn: Original in DS Unleashed 3, cover in SN2 AC

I'm not sure of the development times of each of these games, so the licensing and covers may have been done at (or near) the same time.

"jubeat knit one, purl two"
Keep in mind, though, that those debuted on DS, and covers by in-house bands are a no-no in Europe (although FJLIS by Jamiroquai was on DDR Universe). They like their original versions. For example, I Will Survive on Euromix 1, even though we got a cover on Extreme 2. Kung Fu Fighting is know from 1st Mix, but the original is on DS Max.

Also, Twilight Zone was covered for Disney Mix before a remix appeared on DDR Max AC.

The Other Side is good (Freckles is alright, too), but Shivers is better. Surprised
