Z-I-v Simfile Tournament of Immortals 6 [Sankyuu For Praying]

Not sure if my question about whether or not we had to vote for qualifier files was part of what set you off, but I didn't intend on sounding like i'm "bitching about the contest", or whatever. I had a legit question because I was confused.

Anyway, about the way vincentw votes... I don't see anything wrong with it. Since there's no official way to vote stated in the rules, people are free to vote however they want. Besides, at least he's taking the time to play all the files. Some people seem like they don't play the files at all. Not to throw this person under a bus or anything, but JunkoXXX just added 1 to the top 15 files.

I'm curious... What exactly is wrong with these 3 simfiles? I can sort of understand that some of SUNSUN's gimmicks were kinda janky (albeit I think it should have at least 1 point by now...) but I can't think of anything off about Peanut Butter Jelly or Age-Age Money, I think both were solid in their own ways.

So I'm guessing since the voting already started I can't fix this without getting DQ'ed, even though I had no possible way of knowing the issue even existed beforehand? Because I can't help from wanting to throw my keyboard through the monitor because of this.

Quickman, I don't think the VBR issue is that big of an issue, and I don't think Vincentw meant it in such a way. No one else even brought it up before Sigrev2 tried to bring Vincent's testing methodology into question. It's just something that would be considerate to avoid in the future for certain people who play simfiles in a certain way.

Also, I don't think fixing minor things such as this would mean disqualification; I seen similar things happen in the Simfile Shuffle without issue.

Hey, you learn something new every day, man. For what it's worth, the fact that you used VBR audio didn't affect my judgments a bit.
(Well... to be honest, I almost mistakenly wrote that you should've put -5s in the offset instead of -4.8s because I started playing from beat 0. After I noticed the VBR thing, I pulled back 5s to replay it from the actual beginning and it sorted itself out.)

However, it may change how you step next time.
You may just want to review the steps you made to, say, Measure 30 without listening to the first 29 measures. Or you want to figure out the right BPM for this one part where the BPM just isn't consistent with the rest of the song, even more so if you're stepping a song with live BPM. If you use VBR there, the song will go out of sync, and it adds another layer of difficulty to an already difficult task.

If you're editing your music file via Audacity, you can go here to find out how you can export CBR MP3s, or here if you want to use OGG instead.

Also, as Nezemarth pointed out, it's minor. Don't worry too much. I'm sorry if you're hurt in any way, that's never my intention.

So a lot of people have been wondering why I did the 290 speedup at the end of Magikarp Festival.

I originally wanted to do the whole thing in 290, but that's simply extreme. So, I left the end to the 290 because it has that Tokyo Evolved-style eighth note bass drum. I added the 72.5 wave segments instead of stops because I didn't want to have my measure count off and wanted to avoid stops. It wasn't really necessary though, and for Round 1 I'm going without gimmicks.
