So I finally decided to post my scores. Here's some background on what I'm like skill wise, skip if you want to know how crap good I am at the game:
- I've played for at least a year and 7 months, give or take. This counts times I've played. I'd much rather do that then say I've been playing 3 years or so when I really haven't in terms of game time. That and I'd look bad for saying the latter.
- During the game I have quit a few times. Not just "OMG I suck/I hate this game!" ragequits and not play for a week, I've actually taken at least 2 months off at some point.
- I get discouraged very easily. So if I did get elitists telling me I suck, I'd probably quit again LOL

Right, enough banter, here's some scores:

It's fine. In fact, this thread is a lot friendlier then the stuff on AIJ or Midwest Music Games. I never post on those sites because my scores are awful compared to what's on there.

Plus, you are doing better then I am. I seriously could not pass Hardcore of the North at all today like I usually can. I'm not too sure why, but my scores have been very low and I can't tell if it's my dance mats, stress, or the fact that I played in the morning instead of the afternoon(which is when I do well).

My past or present scores? I've seen your YouTube vids, I'm dead certain you're better than I am haha. I know last year I was in my prime, passing 12s wasn't a big deal; I passed Theme From The Rock as my second 12 LOL and I almost passed my first 13 (Indulgence, Uber Rave). Also I got my first double star last year and nearly got my first triple star: nowadays I'm just shit. XD

That makes me feel a lot better, I thought I was the only one going through this kind of situation. Apparently not. O_o

I've never gotten a triple star. I've double star-d 3 songs(Crazy hard, Romeo and Juliet expert, and See you again expert). The highest I've passed is 13(two of them: The Shining Polaris(kors k mix) - Cosmic Pope's 6 minute torture chart and Operation Evolution(haven't passed again since January) )

I've passed 4 official 12s and would probably be a lot better if I had access to an arcade.

I would really like to get as good as ddrpros or Glow(best female ITG players on YouTube) or heck, I would totally KILL to be as good as Mad Mat!!!!!

okay, know the thing that made me really angry and sad at the same time today:
no ex till 12%
less than 20 till the point my combo became green...
then my neighbors knocked at my door! fu*** them!!! Then I got all the greats (I NEVER get more than 2 on this song) and all the stupid ex... they ruined my score!!! This could have been my FIRST doublestar!!!
*cry* I wanted it soooo badly... and on this really would have been it! ...
I can`t concentrate when people are knocking at my door!
And after that my concentration was gone for the rest of they day!!


I don`t even know how I could get 8 greats and still have a star...

I used to be able to pass this very easily last year, but I was in my prime back then. Honestly, the 16th run patterns are waaaay too hard for a 10, I will tone them down for the final version but those who like it as it is can still play them as the old Hard steps will be stored in an Edit.

Come on Lucie, you'll probably get a 98 in a week or two anyway. You improve really fast and you're still far from a perfect score. You have room for improvement and i'm sure you'll get a 98 in no time.

Also, you should never play at the arcade (or in a public place) because i got a lot of things that was more frustrating than this ^^'
First of all, you don't pay any token. So why not try again after this ? Did you ?

Because the few exemple i have in mind right now (few) are :
- Drunk guy coming on the dance pad while i was playing double. TWICE in the same token (not in the same song).
- Random people staring at me.
- People laughing at me.
- People doing the 2 things that i just said before + dancing + talking shit next to me.
- Kids stomping on down arrows while i'm playing or a friend playing (and got a frustrating talk later with a mum).
- Thinking that i paid and did many kilometers to play this game but all the people above just ruined the token of a part of it.
- Not getting a PFC because the dancepad decided to give you a miss on THE LAST JUMP.
- ect

I guess you need to work a bit on concentration (like "fuck this, i fucked up. But i'll try again at least twice.") and also, kick your neighbors ass if he come disturb you again ;)

Thanks Panstyle, doubles is a LOT of fun. I highly recommend EVERYONE joins in and plays doubles where possible, I was actually swearing a lot less and enjoying myself, even when I failed. Doubles > singles imo. Also I was dubious about you saying Quasar is a 12, but I suppose you do have a point, it's basically a faster version of Theme From The Rock.

True, but even Lucie is better than me nowadays, so I'm kinda ashamed to post anything ITG related now unless it's doubles haha. XD

Yes, what I usually do is put something heavy in front. Last year I put a table in front and it worked quite well unless I was doing a song with lots of crossovers/16th crossovers. Here's one vid of me playing last year: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKCwZkmRtK0.

This year however, the living room has been moved round a bit. I CAN still move the TV back on that window sill, however that involves moving all the family photos and they have to be returned at the end, since my father is VERY fussy about those being moved and not being put back, which means even more fucking work. -_- What I do is put the CFs against the sofa (I move them back a bit for doubles play so I don't shin the sofa haha), link both pads with the doubles bar I have and put a chair to the right. Still moves like a bitch. -_-

EDIT: What I'll do is put up a video so people can see what my set up is and how they can help me. I'm adverse to putting anything up on YouTube since people are such elitist cunts but I could honestly care less this time.

Mhh, it`s weird, but I have no problems with sounds around me when I`m playing on Arcade.
Sure, kids stomping around on down arrows or drunken idiots would disturb me, but that never happened to me, luky me. Maybe cause I almost never play on Arcades.

And yes, I`m pretty sure I could get at least 90 on dreaming snowdrop.
But it all won`t happen soon.

To DancingNinja and anyone else whom it might concern: No one has any right to put you down or make you feel bad in anyway. Any disrespectful, elitist comments are absolutely worthless and are to be ignored. The only thing that matters is that you enjoy the game and get the most out of your experience, and do not interfere with this process for anyone else.

I'm not sure every arcade is going to be as bad as PanStyle's, but anyone who interferes with a game that costs money is effectively guilty of stealing and needs to be stopped one way or another (most likely from being reported to the appropriate people if they refuse to cooperate after being asked to stop).

I know it's good to dream big, but don't stress yourself if you happen to have trouble living up to those standards (not suggesting you might or will, just don't forget to enjoy yourself and your progress). I would be happy just to be able to pass 11's.

Oh, and Lucie, is there anyway you can convince your landlord to allow you to play if you can like find a way to reduce or even drown out altogether the noise? If not, maybe you could try to find another place to play (not move out necessarily, but maybe find a friend or someone who can and will allow you to play in another building or something?).
