DanceDanceRevolution A20 (AC)

Reflesia and Nostalgia op. 2/3 aren't append games, they're full-on sequels. Research, dude.

Also it's more than A20 PLUS being gold cabinet exclusive that bothers me.

1.) This was announced far too soon. Konami just came from a two-month arcade hiatus June 1st.
2.) Outside of two Touhou licenses, Konami hasn't added ANYTHING to DDR A20 since March, meaning they purposely withheld content just for this. (If you call the idol fluff "content" anyway. I don't.)
3.) It took Konami FOUR MONTHS to release A20 outside of Japan. Who wants to do that again?
3b.) Like before, Konami are going to take their sweet ass time releasing kits for the U.S. release, because Heaven forbid the game can run on the same servers as the rest of Asia.
4.) The A20 gold cabs suck.
5.) Golden League will likely still be a thing, just like the 11 Golden League songs still stuck on these machines.
6.) It will likely still have the horrendous, vile, detestable, game ruining announcer who's poisoned every DDR game since X. I LOATHE the X announcer. L-O-A-T-H-E.

So yeah, big surprise I'm not excited.

Why bother making it another “game” instead of just releasing the content? I am thankful that they are still pushing new things out amongst the pandemic though. Gives me hope that Mobile wasn’t scrapped.

Fucking preach it. Even if the gold cabs were better, this would be scummy, but the fact that they're of lower quality is just fucking stupid. Not only do they look like what would happen if someone with a ricer Impreza designed an arcade machine, the pads are worse too. Artificial rarity at its finest.

Wasn't A20 released over a year ago, though? That's a lot longer compared to the previous plus versions, I think.

Fixed. Just want to mention that Japanese gold cabs are amazing to play on (although I don't disagree that American cabs suck in comparison either).

i'm quite aware, except given the context of this post, you're making it seem like any franchise that'd recieve an append these days means death because reflec beat met that fate a couple games later
furthermore, all bemani series went on a hiatus in march, you even acknowledged the hiatus for other bemani games as seen here:

we have golden cabs in round1, it's not necessarily an official release nor there aren't that many round1 locations in the US in the first place but we do have a few of them so,,,

Since I'm stuck in a country where the arcades aren't going to be open for a while anyway, making this update region exclusive seems super redundant.

If it starts out as strong as base A20 did then at least we'll get some good music out of it.
