I hope they have interface DLC, kind of like the Singstar games. If they do this, I would probably pay for themes, even if they don't function like it, but are similar to previous mixes. Seems like it would be easy to adapt somelike like the 4th mix interface to this game.

3 versions of roppongi EVOLVED ?? I'm really curious about it.

Look up tokyoEVOLVED and osakaEVOLVED for details of how that kind of thing works.

Well, we'll have to think of something if DDR "X2" features the album covers instead too, now won't we? ~.~ Possibly revise an entirely new screenpack that utilizes backgrounds as album art? ^.^ (That could make simfiles for other singles even EASIER to make - because then, you could simply look up official CD/singles art; there's no bouncing around about it. Could even be used to integrate StepMania with a person's normal music library, even!)

Edit: Waitasecond... if these have customizable interfaces... what if that means everything - backgrounds, banners, CD-art, CD cover-art, etc.? The disc pictures would be a key part of a 1st-3rd Mix interface, and this might even include diagonalized banners, ala 4thMix (PLUS) or a "graphical songwheel," ala DDR SOLO! Big Grin

"DDR SOLO X2," anybody?

I very much doubt that they will change the album art system for Hottest Party 3. Even if it was simply a demo the engine and graphic setup looks nearly complete so I doubt that Konami would go to all that effort just to revert back to the banner style they used for HP1 and 2. It's actually advantageous to them to use the official album artwork because they can just copy the graphic into the game and not have to spend time developing their own designs, plus it will help people to instantly recognise songs they might know by checking the art.

Visual recognition of a song would really help when skimming through, people might see the art for the album that 'Closer' or 'Disturbia' is from, for example, and think "hey I recognise that, that's Ne-Yo and I like him!". Don't get me wrong, I have always liked a lot of Konami's own song inspired art for the banners, but this new style certainly has it's advantages.

Where are we getting the three versions of roppongi EVOLVED from? Does the video actually show them or are we assuming due to the previous EVOLVED songs?

It shows Ver. A (at the verrrrry end) and Ver. C (at the verrrrrry beginning, near Pluto The First), and the assumption is that Ver. B is between them.

Aight. Were the EVOLVEDs always listed on the songwheel like that? I thought that you picked the song and got one of three variations.

true... But it is due to the fact that StepMania does not support such random selection of music (like SUNKISS DROP) after song selection, hence the seperate simfiles...

So in official DDR, which one is it?

In HP2's game mode, it is just 1 version (defaults to showing ver. A)

BUT IN TRAINING MODE YOU CAN PICK ANY OF THE 3 VERSIONS OF OSAKA EVOLVED...

Magic...Thats how ;)

Im really liking this list so far, they seem to have put in more variety. In the department of "modern" music they have songs that are actually "popular" or were a couple of years ago haha

no, I think he was talking about this game. The "bemanistyle" video he referred to is the video of the E3 songlist of X2.

Did you talk to Orpheus? Just kidding.

I've recently been loving Danca De Yuka by Big Idea and now I'm hoping that it's on the 360 as a DLC.

Speaking of the Downloadable Content, did they mean you could only get songs from the main arcade releases, or does it also include CLUB MIX and Solo BASS MIX/2000? And I'm also assuming that you can only get the Konami Originals from those releases.

KOs from those groups probably get grouped into numbered arcade mixes. I think most of the Solo 2000 is in the 4th mix category, for example.

Nobody knows. All the songs mentioned by Konami that are in any way related to these 4 games are on the ZIV news page.

Anything else is just random speculation.

Oh, okay. It would be nice if they did also include CLUB MIX and the Solo games.
