I hate the fact that they did away with song banners for the PS3/360 versions. Now we have to do all the work lol.
Or someone could just create a theme for DanceDanceRevolution on SM 3.9 OR THE MOST LIKELY 4.0 and we could all be happy!

DDR Extreme (NA) had Keep on Movin', I think.
EXTREME had KEEP ON MOVIN' by N.M.R., not Keep on movin' by NM. They're different songs (well, Keep on movin' is a re-made version of KEEP ON MOVIN') with different steps.
Slightly confusing.

People keep on referering to the Wii version still having song banners, but it is just like the 360/PS3 versions with CD covers as well. If the PS2 version still has banners, I don't see why it would be a problem making them down the line anyways, just use the ones from the PS2 version.

Gotta love how they didn't even try to reduce the load time before a song starts to something tolerable. That was one of the irritating things about playing HP2. Even in course mode, you have 30-50 seconds between songs.Post #2465 · Posted at 2009-08-25 04:44:49am 15.9 years ago

That's a bit of an exaggeration.
On legit copies, it takes 5-10 secs to load, around the same time as PS2. The only bit irritating is that you must press A to continue.

The load time wasn't that bad. At least not to me.

Funny, on my legit copy, it seemed like a solid 30 seconds. In fact, the length is quite visible in my old Silver Dream videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucrXbFmcFvsOn legit copies, it takes 5-10 secs to load, around the same time as PS2. If it had allowed me to start the song sooner, I would have.

Maybe there's something wrong with your copy because I've never had to wait 30 seconds for a song to start. I've always waited the length that Al stated.

Hah, I kinda just noticed...
The ratings for the licenses are laughably easy (please change before final release), but half the KOs list has a 9 or 10 chart and all four oni charts are on the KO-side.
An interesting move.

The core list that's on all versions will have banners on PS2. The real issue would be when the DLC rolls around. Even then, we don't know how many of those will be new songs. Just look at Universe 3, too. Those banners were no sweat (with only a few issues, which is to be expected with custom-made banners).Quote: Pie-kun

Another nuisance about the PS2 pattern: Licenses are easier than KOs. The ratings for the licenses are laughably easy (please change before final release), but half the KOs list has a 9 or 10 chart and all four oni charts are on the KO-side.

As for challenge charts, I'd think the number of charts is final, but not the ratings or even the steps themselves. Challenge is seriously underused, and four charts wouldn't be enough, especially if they're mostly on the boss songs.

None of the oni charts we know of are being used on boss songs. They're all on normal KOs.

Was just gonna say that you were exaggerating but the others beat me to it. I will mention, though, that the loading screens are more important here with the Hand Marker "locking system". Besides, it's possible the load times will improve. The game was just a demo at the time...

WOW! I see lots of good licenses for this release.
I still don't have good expectations fot the PS3/Xbox 360 version. I hope HP3 and X2 bring us a really good experience!

(Somebody better fix that broken

EDIT: After watching the trailer, it's looking promising that this title, for the most part, WILL be cross-console, if the PS3 and 360 versions are using SuperNOVA/X-influenced characters, and all. Also, I'm sure the PS2/Wii version will feature banners, and the PS3/360 will feature album covers, so between those two, the BG/Banner issue is pretty much set. ~.o

I have watched the video and listened to "A brighter day" lots of times. I still like and still reminds me of "My only shining star".
Some of my friends in Peru would get interested in the game only because of the licenses (lots of them are very popular songs in my country and all Latinamerica).
3 versions of roppongi EVOLVED ?? I'm really curious about it.

@Nightime: You might want to just put the PS2 ONLY for banners, HP3 had the album covers on it's demo...
...but it was a demo so who knows really?
