I miss those days as well. I mean, i've only been on here for about 5 years, but I still remember those days. There's no incentive to go into chat anymore; if I wanted to visit tumblr i'd go to tumblr and question why i'm there for 5-10 minutes. It used to be fun at one point, but it isn't now, whether or not people want to accept that as truth.

Also in regards to the chat, it's not fair that we have to pick sides of non-chat likers and chat likers. I was fairly sure at a time there was two separate groups of people that chat and got along and greatness. Now it seems it's better to criticize and be smug about everyone involved in chat and wishing back to the "good old days." If you guys want to make a change then stop posting in this thread about it and do something.

I'll believe it when I or many others have seen effort put into making things fun for everyone. /rant ; side topic

I'm fine with the chat when it's not just 95% repetitive Tumblr gifs. There are times where it actually serves its intended purpose. The problem is that the last few times I've been on it, that's pretty much all it was; repetitive Tumblr gifs.

As far as shitposting goes, that's neither here nor there for me. It's annoying, but I'm so used to every website having tons of shitposts that I just can't really react to it anymore. I'm guilty of doing it in the past, but at this point, I'd prefer to act like a normal person instead of contributing to the problem. It stops being funny pretty quickly.

as a chat frequenter, all i can do is agree with what's being said here. place is a cesspool filled with links and inside jokes and rudeness and other general bullshit. don't know why i keep going back there. maybe because i foolishly have some hope in thinking that one day it won't be just a disaster of a place. when can we bring back the friendly chat? or better yet, get rid of the chat entirely?
